Marcos to name Education secretary this week

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. says on June 27, 2024 that he will announce the new Education secretary by the end of the week, adding that the position is very important. The President also said the Uniteam alliance was still the same but changes would depend on whether Vice President Sara Duterte would stand with the administration or the opposition.

00:00Hi sir, good morning. Sir, how big a loss is Vice President Sally Duterte from your cabinet and what was the reason given by her to resign?
00:13She didn't give any reasons. I asked her if there were any particular reasons why she has chosen to resign from the Department of Education and she said, we will not talk anymore. So, I did not force her.
00:35Well, you know, we have to carry on and the Department of Education is quite possibly arguably the most important department because education is that important. So, no matter the change of leadership within the department, we still have to carry on.
00:54So, we are now, today is, I will probably be able, I would like to be able to announce the appointment of the new Deputy Secretary-General.
01:07Sir, how many are we considering?
01:37So, what do we need? Do we need an educator? Do we need an administrator? Do we need an Amta? What do we need? And that's what we are trying to do.
