00:11But it's not expected to be a smooth path to membership.
00:16We've seen other countries such as some Western Balkan nations,

00:23They've seen some of their efforts really slow down over recent years.
00:28So momentum is absolutely crucial for Moldova and Ukraine.
00:32They have a number of things to work on in terms of reforms going forward,
00:37ranging from everything when it comes to how they deal with corruption,
00:41environmental regulations, taxation,
00:43just a few of the things they'll need to convince the EU
00:46that they've done enough with to comply with the EU's norms.
00:50However, Ukrainian officials are certainly optimistic.
00:53They say they expect, if things go well,
00:56for them to be a member of the European Union by 2030.
