00:00You help to set the vision for the brand in so many ways.
00:03Two things I think that were really, really helpful to me.
00:10One is be true to yourself.
00:12Be true to yourself in being an authentic leader,
00:15in cultivating a team, in challenging the organization
00:20to do what's good.
00:22And then the other thing is be true to your brand.
00:25I think as marketers and communicators,
00:29we are often the front lines of what an organization is doing.
00:33Yeah, people talk about the bottom line,
00:35and certainly marketing communications
00:37contributes to the bottom line.
00:38But sometimes you can push the brand forward.
00:42Being true to the brand so that the brand doesn't, in some ways,
00:48make promises that it can't keep.
00:50That the brand is sort of centered
00:53to who it is at its core.
00:55And so I think that was very, very good advice.
00:59I have tried to follow that.
01:01It is not always easy.
01:03And these last few years certainly
01:05haven't been easy as brands have navigated
01:07sort of geopolitical conversations.
01:10But always center truth to yourself and truth to the brand.
