A designer spent $20k transforming an old farmhouse into a "dollhouse"- adding $100k in value.

Jonny Carmack, 31, bought the three-bedroom home in Danbury, Connecticut in October 2020 for $256k and knew it would be a "fixer-upper".

He favours bright colours and created a different theme for each room in the house - opting for a pop art bathroom, a pink parlour for a dining room and a fruit room bedroom.

Jonny has spent $20k on the place transforming it into "a dream house" - by buying items on Facebook Marketplace and HomeGoods.

00:02So this is the front entryway.
00:03We laid down these peel and stick tiles
00:06and just painted everything pink.
00:08Right this way is the living room.
00:11The couch is from Facebook Marketplace.
00:13I get the most questions about it.
00:14It is gorgeous.
00:15I made these pink hand curtains.
00:18This is Penelope.
00:19She's my show pony.
00:20I made this flower light and it glows neon.
00:22And then I painted this.
00:25This is the reading nook,
00:26but Gloria is currently baking a Lana cake.
00:29I'm also very obsessed with disco balls.
00:31Quick question, which Powerpuff Girl are you?
00:35I need to throw a party in here.
00:36So if you wanna come, just comment down below.
00:38This is the 80s pastel pink room and I love it.
00:41I actually made this giant cake coffee table
00:44and I made these candy buttons.
00:46I had these bows custom made and yes, they are crocheted.
00:50It's heavily inspired by the 80s.
00:52These pillows are by Wear the House.
00:54I love you guys.
00:55Checker wall, I actually adhered.
00:57It's fabric and I did it like two years ago
01:00and I see a lot of other creators doing it now.
01:02Like it's just starched on.
01:03It's so much cheaper than wallpaper
01:05and I had never seen it done before.
01:06This is my art pop bathroom inspired by Andy Warhol,
01:10my fave.
01:11And a friend made me this mirror.
01:13I'm obsessed.
01:14Now this is my little peach kitchen
01:16with the Powerpuff Girl dishwasher and the matching fridge
01:20and the light that I wallpapered
01:22and the little dining room is attached to the kitchen.
01:24From the outside, this looks like a bakery window.
01:27And of course, we have all the food decor in here.
01:29Good morning, my beautiful people.
01:30Today, we're painting the front door.
01:32Right now, it's ugly and 700 of you guys agree.
01:35So we got a screen mirroring projector
01:37which is going to allow the image to be on the door
01:40and I'm gonna use it as like a template.
01:42I also spent all my money at Michaels again yesterday.
01:45Michaels called me and obviously,
01:46we're going for blue and pinks
01:48and my artsy fartsy friend, Gabriela,
01:50is on her way over to help me right now.
01:51So I showed you guys yesterday a few images
01:53but here's the one we ended up with.
01:55She's stunning.
01:56And because it's the front door,
01:58this is where the projector will be.
02:00I feel like a movie star.
02:02So you're gonna start with iOS cast
02:04and then go to Wi-Fi setting
02:06and then connect to your network
02:07or maybe the guy is next door
02:09and then allow your device to screen mirror.
02:11I'm doing it on my computer
02:12because my phone, I need to film with.
02:14Gorge.
02:16Okay, Gabriela's here and we're tracing.
02:19Ooh, serve.
02:20You guys wanna see something?
02:22We're making progress.
02:24Done.
02:24Okay, I think we're gonna start painting with the blue.
02:29We are going to paint the door now.
02:31So as you can see, we're painting the door.
02:38Painting, painting.
02:39Paint is thin like my hair.
02:42The way I've been doing this for hours.
02:45Now I'm just going in and mixing colors.
02:47So it's taking a while
02:48but as you can see, it's a lot of shading.
02:50Here it is up close.
02:51The colors are everything.
02:52What do you guys think about making
02:54these little panels down here roses?
02:56See you tomorrow.
02:57Okay, friends.
02:58So in my head, I live in a princess castle
03:00and so I needed to get a projector
03:02and project a stained glass mural onto the wall.
03:06And I didn't realize how hard this would be
03:08because the door is obviously not flat.
03:10So I had Gabriela and Mitchell help me paint this mural
03:14over the past week.
03:15It was a ton of shading, as you can see here.
03:19It literally took so long
03:20but I'm in love with the colors that we use.
03:24And as this process was turning out,
03:28I was just getting more and more excited.
03:29These roses remind me of Beauty and the Beast
03:32and we live, laugh, love for them.
03:34And then I incorporated ponies
03:36because duh and disco balls
03:38because duh on the bottom of the mural
03:41as almost like a signature to the actual door.
03:44And it's so cute.
03:45It's giving stained glass.
03:46It's giving princess peach.
03:47I love this so much.
03:49I'm living in my own little fantasy land, as you all know.
03:53And I really want to know what you guys think of it.
03:55Do you think I should add anything else?
03:57Do you think it's perfect as is?
03:59I'm so happy with how this turned out
04:01and I love you so much.
