00:18In the face of the harassments committed by the China Coast Guard to the Philippine troops in the West Philippine Sea,

00:23particularly their arrest in Ayungin Shoal a few days ago,

00:27Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino has an appeal to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:33My appeal to the President is to continue the National Security Council as soon as possible.

00:41You know, the National Security Council is the highest policy-making group body of our government.

00:49It includes everyone, including those who can be invited, former presidents,

00:54and those who are still alive to give advice on what to do.

00:59Senator Ayme Marcos also signed a resolution to investigate the incident in Ayungin Shoal,

01:06where it resulted in the injury of several Philippine Navy personnel.

01:11We should exercise all caution as well as expend all avenues in order to put an end to this,

01:25de-escalate tension, and make certain that every Filipino life,

01:30whether in the West Philippine Sea or in the Taiwan Straits, is secured.

01:35We want a full briefing. We need an executive session.

01:39Senate President Francis Escudero urged the Armed Forces to find an alternative way

01:45to distribute supplies to the BRP Sierra Madre,

01:48so that our troops can be properly stationed while limiting the number of refugees.
