00:00Good morning, thanks for joining me for your weather update here on Friday the
00:0421st of June. Some fine weather out there this morning but a different feel
00:09for the West as we start to see the clouds spilling in, some patchy rain
00:13already over parts of Western Scotland and across the Northern Isles and as we
00:16go through the morning the cloud thickening across Northern Ireland
00:18outbreaks of rain will trickle in here too and eventually we'll also start to
00:23see a few more showers developing over Western Scotland, West Wales, parts of
00:27Devon and Cornwall too but for many central and eastern parts a bit of mist
00:31and fog very early on but that disappears and then we'll see a fine
00:35summer's day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the east getting into
00:39the low 20s maybe 23, 24 in one or two spots. It will be a cooler day further
00:45west with the breeze picking up and more cloud temperatures here closer to the
00:49June average in a high teens generally. As we go through this evening that rain
00:53in the west will continue to track into parts of Wales, South West England up
00:57towards Western Scotland also and eventually turning up across the middle
01:01it's nothing too heavy but turning a bit damp here through the night and
01:05eventually some of that rain creeping into the southeastern East Anglia too.
01:08Clearer skies will follow to Northern Ireland and Western Scotland and here
01:12temperatures likely to be a touch lower than last night generally dipping down
01:16to about 9 or 10 degrees Celsius maybe a little lower in some rural spots. Further
01:21south it will be a milder night particularly for East Anglia and the
01:24southeast compared to the night just gone but it will be also a greyer start
01:29to the weekend a lot more cloud around over the Midlands and eastern England to
01:33begin the day tomorrow. Likely to see a few scattered showers here also as we go
01:37through the day. For many though it's looking like a dry and a fine day some
01:41good spirals of sunshine over central and southern Scotland, Wales, South West
01:46England too. We'll cloud over again across Northern Ireland and North West
01:49Scotland with some rain threatening to push in here as the breeze starts to
01:53pick up. Temperatures here 15-16 degrees but elsewhere with a bit of sunshine we
01:57should again get into the high teens or low 20s. It won't be as warm across
02:01eastern England tomorrow because there'll be more cloud around and a few
02:06scattered showers. The showery rain from a couple of weather fronts spreading in
02:10as we go through the weekends. This one will bring a little bit more in the way
02:13of rain as we go through Saturday night and into Sunday morning but generally
02:17speaking high pressure is heading up from the southwest. That's going to bring
02:20many of us a fine day on Sunday. There are low pressure systems out in the
02:24Atlantic but look at what the jet stream is doing. For most of June it's been down
02:29here and we've been on the cold side of it but now it's finally pushing its way
02:33northwards taking the low pressure systems to the north of the UK and that
02:38will allow higher pressure to move in and some warmer air to waft in as well.
02:43Things heating up especially for the early part of next week. Keep up to date
