00:00But I also want to ask you that you're finished at the Wells Fargo finishing sixth.
00:07Do you feel like because you beat a higher quality field, do you think you deserve to
00:13be paid what you were paid?
00:15And do you think the signature events moving forward should have more guys?
00:19Or do you think it's a reward for playing really well the year before?
00:23And then if you go out and play against the best players in the world and play well, hey,
00:28like this is, this is me.
00:29This is what I get because I beat the best guys.
00:33I think the, um, the intent of those events was good.
00:38I just think they've, they've kind of missed a little bit, I think.
00:42So back to your point, like the field sizes last year were actually like at Wells Fargo
00:49last year was one 56.
00:51It was one 56.
00:52Okay.
00:53I, I was just thinking, and I believe travelers as well was a big field, like one 56 as well.
01:00Like full field.
01:01Um, cause once you get to the summertime, you can, you can go one 56.
01:04And so, and I don't think one 56 is the answer, but I think like if you went, let's say to
01:12a hundred or 120 man field, it's like, I think 120 still feels elite to me.
01:17Like when you go to play Memorial, there's 120 guys to Bay Hill was always that way,
01:23you know?
01:24So I think that to me, again, I just think that the PGA tour is kind of pride itself
01:33on like, you kind of, you know, eat what you kill, right.
01:37And you have to go out there and earn it.
01:39And I think that Thursday, Friday and going out there and playing well to make the cut
01:44is part of professional golf.
01:46And so I kind of, I kind of like a blend of what we have right now and last year.
01:52So like maybe the fields aren't quite as big as last year, but they're not as small
01:56as they are now.
01:57Like, I don't think 70 players is the right answer.
02:00Like this weekend in Connecticut, you know, 70 players with no cut to me, you know, it'd
02:08be a better feel that one 20.
02:10I mean, there's, there's no doubt if you add the next 50 players, which would include guys
02:15like, you know, Mark Hubbard and some of these guys I've played great this year.
02:19You know, you have those guys, you have those guys to this field and the field becomes way,
02:24way better.
02:25And to win becomes a way bigger accomplishment.
02:28And, you know, to your point about like me at the Wells Fargo, like, I don't think that
02:34like, yeah, I played really well on a really tough golf course against great players, but
02:39did I earn all of that, all those points and that money by finishing that and that high
02:45in that tournament?
02:46I mean, it's probably a little bit inflated.
02:49I think the points are overdone.
02:53So much, right?
02:54Yeah.
02:55Like, I think they just, they had the right intent for those points and they, I know what
02:59they were trying to do, but they just, they, they'd missed the mark and went way too high
03:02to me.
03:03Like you finish 20, if you get a hundred, a hundred points, you're just like, that doesn't
03:08seem like I earned a hundred points, which is like, you know, going and finishing fifth
03:12that like, I don't know, Val spar.
03:17To me, like you finished fifth at Val spar or 20th at, you know, the Wells Fargo.
03:21I mean, they're not even close to the same thing.
