00:00A Snapchat video of Jay smiling and laughing three days ago in Tenerife. Since then, his
00:06family and friends have been desperately searching for him.
00:10The 19-year-old travelled to Canary Island for the new Rave Generation music festival
00:14at the weekend. He rang his friend Lucy at around 8 o'clock Monday morning, saying he
00:19was lost, needed a drink of water and only had 1% battery on his phone.
00:25His last known location was near Rural de Teno Park, a rugged and mountainous area popular
00:31with hikers.
00:32In terms of trying to navigate through a park of the size of the Teno Rural Park, it would
00:39be very, very easy to get lost because there would be some trails, but they would lead
00:43through to other trails. It would be quite, quite easy for you to find yourself off the
00:48beaten track.
00:49A major search is underway, led by the Civil Guard. They say they are doing everything
00:54possible to find Jay, including the deployment of a specialist mountain rescue team and a
01:00police helicopter focusing on the area around the village of Masca.
01:05The teenager's mum flew to Tenerife yesterday to help friends search local areas near to
01:10where he was last seen. Beside herself with worry, she says she will do anything to help
01:15find her son.
01:17Keira Durkan, Good Morning Britain.
