Severe storms hammered Minnesota and surrounding areas on June 18.

00:00Let's go to the north central now where we're dealing with some heat and some strong storms for some
00:04Yeah
00:05That's right a lot of rain coming out of these thunderstorms here in a northeastern
00:08Minnesota as we've talked about all these have flash flood warnings that have been going on for quite some time and still through 12 15 a.m
00:16We're looking at two Lake County here in a Minnesota meeting
00:19Yeah, the rain's not stopping anytime soon
00:21I want to show you some of the rainfall abounds here over the last six hours and look at some of these numbers here
00:26To the north of again or to the east rather of the town of Cook
00:31We're looking at some Doppler estimates here nearing seven inches of rain
00:35We've had numerous reports of again water covering roads here, and I'll show you a couple of these that coming out again
00:42There's just so many to a kind of comb through here flooding on Minnesota Highway one in both directions again
00:48Here's an additional report to coming out near the town of Tower
00:51Reports again with the three to six inches of water

00:57Additionally here again looking also I get to complete road washouts here again
01:02So a lot of rain coming down in this area and still some additional rounds of heavy rain set to make its way on through
01:09We're also in the midst of a tornado watch what I show you a watch situation
01:13And we do have additional watches southbound as well here into Iowa
01:17Into Nebraska and into Kansas to go through eight o'clock even ten o'clock local time
01:22So we're not finished with the storms just yet
01:24These will be charging east as we go throughout the evening and into the overnight eventually
01:29We're going to push out of that moisture here to northeastern, Minnesota
01:33But the flooding is going to be continuing here for the next several hours
01:35And then look at this huge broad zone stretched out southwest to northeast of severe weather potential and notice how it now
01:42Extends its way toward Detroit also toward Toledo later on Wednesday
01:46and this is where we can see flash flooding hail and
01:50damaging wind gusts now south and east of here and even in toward Chicago we can see both the storms that are severe and
01:58Experience the heat the heat kind of the driving force here for some of those severe thunderstorms
02:02And we look at the stark contrast between Des Moines at 73 and Chicago at 93 degrees
02:07And then as we work our way into Thursday, Chicago, you start to see your numbers slipping
02:11We're down the 60s around Green Bay, but the heat lingers on here point South Kansas City to st
02:17Louis to Indianapolis
02:18So it begins to reorient itself here from west to east acu with a real filled temperatures heading it toward Friday
02:24with a pocket there into Illinois and Indiana of
