00:00Uh-uh River. No. Don't do it. Don't do it. Hey, hey, hey. River. Don't do it.
00:14This rescue whom I worked with before reached out to me about this dog who was not doing well at
00:20the shelter. She was left chained to a tree or chained to a bench at a park. She was just
00:26surrendered there and left there. The only way they could get the dog out of the shelter is if
00:32they had a committed adopter. I said I will be on the next flight out to come and get her.
00:42You can let her go, yeah. Well, look at that. You're just all bark. You're just all bark.
00:51She was tied to a pole at the park.
00:56Really? Can you see that? Oh yeah. So she's living around herself.
01:08She has no confidence whatsoever.
01:12But I do think you're rightly about more than likely a man-hunter.
01:21Uh-uh River.
01:26Come on. I'm gonna follow you quietly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on. Let's go.
01:37All right, come on. River, come on. You know, you're dealing with a dog that was
01:44abused, who knows in how many ways, emotionally, physically, usually by a man.
01:49So when they see a six foot five, 250 pound man, you know, and they don't know me yet,
01:57they can sometimes be pretty fearful. Obviously, she suffers from so much anxiety that she's chewed
02:03her foot so, so aggressively that she can't, she's not even able to put weight on it right now.
02:08She's already starting to get more relaxed. She knows I'm not going to hurt her. Of course,
02:13it's still going to take some time. I have a long drive ahead of me. I can assure you by the end of
02:18the drive, she'll be with me like glue. Oh, wow. Good job. That's great. I know it's going to be
02:28great. I promise. It's going to be great. Let's get out of here. We just got to our rest area.
02:34We've been driving for about three hours now. She's doing so good. I'm going to change her name.
02:42I'm not sure what I'm going to name her yet. I think I'm going to name her Rain.
02:45She's doing so much better. She's not chewing on her paws much.
02:48She did so good. She slept like a baby. She just slept like a baby right next to me.
02:53All right, my love. We are back at the sanctuary.
03:01You're going to like it here, Rain. You're going to like it.
03:04Rain, is that your chair now? Are you the lifeguard? Are you the lifeguard, sweetheart?
