00:08 The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission said the post was perceived as
00:13 an attempt to defame a specific individual who is a federal minister and was not intended
00:18 to foster healthy discussion, discourse or debate.
00:22 On May 26, lawyer Shamshir Singh Din wrote a post about Asia Mobility Technology's
00:27 Sanjaran Berhad, which was co-owned by M. Ramachandran, the husband of Yu Feng Sports
00:31 Minister Hannah Yeo.
00:33 MCMC said Shamshir's post came at a time when there were several other posts on Facebook
00:38 containing derogatory remarks aimed at disturbing and bullying Yeo.
00:43 It also claimed that Shamshir did not attempt to cross-check the content of his post with
00:47 publicly available information.
00:49 The Selangor government's recent selection of Asia Mobility to run a demand-responsive
00:54 transit service gave rise to allegations of preferential treatment and conflict of interest.
