00:10since starring together in the 2005 action sci-fi film.
00:15He gave me my first cell phone when I was 11 years old,
00:17was my first gift from him.
00:19And he's remembered it every year since then.
00:21And I always am like, I was like, maybe when I'm 18,
00:23like that would be a normal, you know what I mean?
00:25Or like, oh, 21, like whatever.
00:27And then he said a few years ago
00:28that he likes sort of that moment of checking in
00:32like once a year.
00:32And it's just like so thoughtful.
00:34The actress celebrated her milestone 30th birthday
00:37earlier this year and tells ET what her plans are
00:40as she enters this next decade of life.
00:44I think to just like keep sort of doing
00:48what I've been doing in a way,
00:50but just in this new chapter.
00:52I'm so grateful for all of the opportunities
00:55that I have at the moment and that I've had in the past.
00:57And I think just being super present and enjoying it
01:00and not ever getting kind of too far ahead of myself.

01:24I like to do all kinds of different genres
01:28and different things.
01:29And I think the Shyamalan family should have a genre
01:33all of their own just called Shyamalan.
01:36And now we have Ishana kind of making her own way
01:39and creating her own path.
01:40And I was so excited to support her on that
01:44and yeah, be a part of this.
01:47First of all, she's such a wonderful person.
01:48So just her spirit is so open and kind.
01:53And she is really good at collaborating
01:58and loves collaborating and like being creative
02:00with a group of people.
02:01And so it was a very playful, collaborative environment.
02:04And I think that's such an important quality as a director
02:07to be kind of adaptable and, you know,
02:12taking in something from everybody around you on set.
02:14And so she definitely had her own vision
02:16and was super clear about what she wanted to do.
