00:00 - Definitely, I wanted to ask,
00:02 obviously you have quite a transformation in this
00:04 with all of the makeup that you do,
00:06 which is a very cool look,
00:07 but I wondered what was it like for you to be in that makeup?
00:10 How long did it take?
00:11 But also, did it help you to kind of transform
00:14 into Jackie more that way?
00:16 - It definitely did.
00:17 As soon as I had all the prosthetics on and the costume,
00:22 Jackie just came to life.
00:23 And I've said this before,
00:24 but the way I read her on the page
00:26 and the way I'd thought of her in my head
00:29 and the way I'd rehearsed her by myself
00:31 was completely different to once I had the whole look on.
00:35 She became so much more,
00:37 the way I devised her was very controlled
00:41 and kind of harsh.
00:42 She became sort of quite sweet and curious,
00:47 which was really lovely.
00:48 And it was really fun to get to play that.
00:51 And I was very surprised by that aspect of her.
00:53 And I think the makeup really, really helped.
00:56 And it was so exciting.
00:57 We worked with the most amazing makeup artists,
01:00 Jeremy and Rob, who were just incredible.
01:02 And it was really fun to get to sit in the chair with them.
01:05 And we became mates and we'd chat
01:08 for an hour and a half in the mornings.
01:09 It was an intense call time.
01:12 It was like 3.30 a.m. I'd get picked up from my house,
01:15 which was exhausting.
01:17 But it was worth it.
01:18 And it was really fun to then,
01:22 you truly felt, you were amazing as well.
01:24 - Alien, yeah.
01:25 - You felt alien.
01:25 - You feel different.
01:26 - But in Star Wars.
01:27 And you'd look at yourself and you'd be like,
01:29 wow, damn it, I'm doing Star Wars.
01:32 - Yeah.
01:33 - I really wanted to be an alien
01:34 until I watched you guys go through
01:36 your first day of makeup.
01:37 And I was like, cool, I'm good being human.
01:38 - You were like, I'm actually fine, yeah.
01:40 I just have an earring and a dress.
01:42 - It was only difficult if you worked many days in a row.
01:44 Then it became sort of like a meditative exercise
01:48 going through the makeup.
01:50 But if you didn't work every single day in a row,
01:52 it was very manageable.
01:54 - Did you figure out a way to sleep in the chair?
01:56 - Because I did.
01:56 - I didn't, no.
01:57 - I did.
01:58 - I would watch you sleep.
01:59 - It's amazing.
02:00 - Well, because I do days on end of this makeup.
02:04 So, of getting up at 3 a.m. and getting home at 9.
02:07 So, I'd be getting--
02:08 - It's also hard to take off as well.
02:09 But anyway, they looked amazing.
02:10 - You'd then have bits of,
02:12 I had bits of white all over me.
02:14 - I would blow my nose and green would come out
02:16 for a week.
02:17 - Yeah, literally.
02:18 And I figured out a way to sleep.
02:19 You'd just go like this.
02:20 - Good being human.
02:21 - And you'd fall asleep like this.
02:24 And then you'd wake up an hour and a half later
02:25 and you were an alien.
02:26 - Alien.
02:27 - Yeah, it's really jarring.
