00:00What was it about Time Bandits that made you want to revisit it?
00:04I didn't, I, it wasn't really a thing I ever really had thought about until it was presented,
00:10you know, Apple and Paramount, they said, we've got this thing, are you interested?
00:16I said, sure am.
00:17Foolishly, because we both love the movie, we thought, oh, it's going to be like we're
00:21making the movie.
00:22But of course, we have to make our own thing.
00:24It was a 10 episodes, so it was almost like making that movie four times, five times.
00:30The source material is so great, and it's so iconic, and it's something that we both
00:36grew up on and loved.
00:38And it was not necessarily an opportunity to just completely copy it or recreate it
00:43exactly the same.
00:44But just to take that inspiration and that seed and that idea and make our own version
00:48of it.
00:49And I think that's what adaptations should be.
00:51You shouldn't really, I think you've got to, you've got to be able to let go of the
00:54original thing and let yourself flourish and fly.
00:59I had seen it long ago when it first came out.
01:04And then so I watched it again and thought, oh, how fantastic that Tyke and Jemaine are
01:12doing this as a series and it can be more fleshed out.
01:17And because I had questions in the first one, you know, and just see, and then where
01:22would it go?
01:23I just thought that was thrilling.
01:27And then I read their scripts and yeah, that's what, that's what I thought it would be.
01:32Okay.
01:33Yeah.
01:34But there was no way I wasn't going to be part of this.
01:38So I didn't watch it, but my dad did when he was really young and it was really weird
01:44to be in a thing that basically my dad used to watch and I didn't watch it because I want
01:51my Kevin to be his own Kevin, not just an adaptation of the old one.
