00:00 We saw within the past 24 hours since the verdict came out that the verdict really galvanized Trump's base.

00:08 His campaign said that it was a historic day for them.

00:11 The donation page crashed after the verdict temporarily and they raised $34.8 million in small-dollar donations less than 24 hours after the verdict.

00:23 And 29.7% of the donors are new to the platform according to the campaign.

00:28 Is there any indication from the poll that this is galvanizing the Biden base in the same way?

00:34 Maybe disenfranchised Democrats who were going to sit this election out not turn out deciding,

00:40 "Hey, I need to get off my couch. I need to vote because I don't want a convicted felon to be the president."

00:45 Yeah, I mean, there is a lot of signals that show that it's galvanizing both bases, but roughly by equal amounts, I would say.

00:57 And in the old important question of, you know, does the verdict make you more or less likely to vote for Donald Trump in November,

01:08 or does the verdict have no impact on your vote, the numbers are roughly split again.

01:16 30% said more likely to vote for Trump, 27% said less likely to vote for Trump, and 44% said no impact on my vote.

01:26 This is amongst all the voters.

01:28 When you look at Republicans, 57% said more likely to vote for Trump, 11% less likely to vote for Trump, and about a third said no impact on my vote.

01:39 Democrats, you almost flip it.

01:41 10% said more likely to vote for Trump, so Trump's got some traction, I guess, with the Democratic base, as Biden does with the Republican base at the 10% level.

01:53 41% said less likely to vote for Trump, 48% said no impact on my vote.

01:59 And independents broke a little bit with less likely to vote for Trump, 28% more likely, 22%, and 51% said no impact on my vote.

02:14 But again, these differences are small, and that's why they're not changing the horse race.

02:18 So maybe they've changed the horse race from Trump being ahead of Biden three, four points to now it being a tie, right, essentially a statistical tie.

02:30 So, you know, there's very much this phenomenon of Teflon Trump, right?

02:35 These things are not really impacting his traction with Republicans or really making up the minds of independents.

02:47 It's another data point for independents.

02:49 They don't like it.

02:51 They think that being a convicted felon isn't a good thing for the president.

02:55 But is this the reason why they will be picking a president or not?

02:59 It's unlikely.
