00:10 The Investment Trade and Industry Ministry said the investment will

00:13 support 26,500 jobs across various sectors including

00:17 healthcare, education and finance with a total

00:20 economic impact valued at 15.04 billion ringgit.

00:24 The investment follows MITI-facilitated discussions between Prime Minister Anwar

00:28 Ibrahim and Alphabet Inc. Chief Financial Officer

00:31 Ruth Porat and a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Malaysian

00:35 Investment Development Authority on November 14th last year.

00:39 Meanwhile, Porat said Google's first data center and Google Cloud region in

00:43 Malaysia is its largest planned investment in

00:45 the country where it has been present for 13 years.

00:49 Google's data center will be located in Saim Darby Properties' Almeena Business

00:53 Park and will support various Google services.

00:56 However, its operational timeline remains unknown.

01:00 Once it is operational, Malaysia will join 11 countries where Google has built

01:04 and currently operates data centers to serve users globally.
