00:00 Hello there. Today is most likely going to be the best day overall for the Bank Holiday
00:06 weekend. But not everywhere we'll see sunshine. And looking at the bigger picture for the
00:11 next few days, low pressure is going to dominate. We'll see areas of rain pushing in, some showers
00:17 as well. Some of these will be heavy and thundery. Could lead to some local disruption through
00:22 Sunday and perhaps into Monday as well. So let's look at the details for the rest of
00:27 Saturday. We do have a weather system pushing into eastern parts of England, south-east
00:32 England seeing some outbreaks of rain here. So quite cool. But further west, the skies
00:37 will brighten across parts of Wales, central-southern England into parts of Kent. Northwards as
00:44 well, Northern Ireland, western fringes of Northern England and much of Scotland. Dry
00:48 with sunny spells, one or two showers is possible here. But then later on, parts of south-west
00:54 Wales, Devon and Cornwall, the cloud will thicken, some patchy rain moving in too. If
00:59 you are in the sunshine, temperatures rising into the high teens, possibly low 20s, around
01:04 22 Celsius for London. The UV also high up around 6 or 7. So do put on sun cream if you
01:12 are out enjoying the sunshine this afternoon. But it is cooler. Some eastern parts of England
01:17 under the cloud along the coast, for example, there, 14 to 16 degrees. So on the chilly
01:22 side and turning fresher as well across the far south-west of England as the rain moves
01:28 in. Through into the evening time, this frontal system pushes further north and eastwards
01:34 introducing rain into these southern parts of England and Wales. Rain also pushing northwards
01:40 into Northern England, Scotland as we head into the early hours. So generally, for most
01:45 overnight it will be cloudy. Outbreaks of rain, some of this will be heavier at times
01:50 and turning a little breezy, particularly around the coast. But a mild night for everyone
01:55 due to that cloud cover, temperatures remaining in double figures. It does mean a grey start
02:00 for many, a damp start. Outbreaks of rain for Sunday morning pushing its way northwards
02:04 but soon brightening up across south-west England. These brighter skies pushing northwards
02:09 through the morning into the afternoon. But with low pressure in charge, the air is unstable.
02:14 We'll see shower clouds developing quite widely across the UK. They could be heavy, thundery,
02:20 some hail, some localised flooding is possible. So we have a met obvious warning for thunderstorms
02:24 out through the afternoon into the evening, particularly across parts of England and Wales
02:28 seeing these showers and they will be on the slow moving side too. Rather cloudy though,
02:33 Northern Ireland into parts of Scotland, Northern England but a few heavy downpours possible
02:37 too. And temperatures, rather breezy around the coast, it will feel chillier compared
02:42 to Saturday for most. Temperatures generally 17 to 19 Celsius, perhaps 20 or 21 degrees
02:49 across the south-east, feeling a little less chilly for some eastern parts where we see
02:54 the sunshine compared to Saturday at least. Into the evening time, those hefty showers
02:59 will start to slowly fade away and into the early hours as well, leaving a legacy of patchy
03:05 rain in places, particularly across the northern half of the UK. Perhaps temperatures dipping
03:10 into single figures to take us into Bank Holiday Monday. So brighter start but we will see
03:15 rain across parts of Northern England, parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland too. And it's
03:19 another day of sunny spells and showers generally across the country. Perhaps the heaviest of
03:23 showers more focused across the eastern side of the UK. Western areas, the showers becoming
03:29 lighter as the day progresses but further rain perhaps pushing in to the south-west
03:33 later on. And still rather breezy around the coast and temperatures again a little lower,
03:38 so perhaps struggling to get up to around 20 Celsius. Elsewhere, most places around
03:43 16, 17 degrees. So if you are out on Monday, you may want to brolly and also an extra layer
03:49 as it will be on the fresh side in places. So the weather is mixed through the Bank Holiday
03:56 weekend. There will be some warm spells of sunshine but the risk of heavy thundery downpours
04:01 developing through Sunday and perhaps into Monday as well. For more information on the
04:05 weather where you are, you can follow us on our social media channels. See you again soon.
