The story of Fizagat Park begins in 1984 when it was established under the leadership of Malak Bairam Khan, then Chairman of the Municipal Committee of Mingora. The park was envisioned as a haven of tranquility where locals and visitors alike could immerse themselves in nature’s wonders. However, in 2010, the devastating floods left their mark on the park, necessitating restoration.

In June 2012, the Tehsil Municipal Administration, with financial support from PaaRSA, embarked on a mission to refurbish the park. The renovation, costing Rs 3.5 million, expanded the park by an additional 35,000 square feet. The Government of Japan played a significant role in revitalizing the park in 2013, with an allocation of Rs 14 million for its upkeep in 2015.

Subsequent to these efforts, an expansion project was inaugurated on July 6, 2015. The initiative included tree planting, construction of a bridge, installation of a solar-powered illumination system, and further beautification.
