00:06 Yeah, today I suffered a lot, so I still speak also with John at Milan, for him it's just 70 seconds in the sprint and then you know immediately if you have win or not.

00:20 Today I need wait two hours and in the end I'm a little bit blocked with emotions because winning in Italy after a lot of time without a win is a really intense moment, especially here close to the lake, it's like a second house for me.

00:45 And it's your sixth win in a time trial of the Giro d'Italia.

00:52 Yeah, it's nice to be here and to see also Giro arrive really well, also for the GC we have a keeper for more seconds and now tomorrow is a really intensive day and the last week we need to fight with the heart and with the head.

01:21 You had the best time at the first time check, after that did you ride flat out, did you save some energy, did you play safe?

01:30 No, I tried, you know the first part of the course I really enjoyed it, it was up and down, left and right, I could accelerate good and it was a nice course but then the last 10 kilometers or around 11-12 kilometers was not so great for me, but I tried to keep a good pace, not to kill myself obviously also.

01:54 I tried to go for the win today but Pippo was just too fast in the last part of the course where it suited him, but I enjoyed today's time trial and it was a good goal and tomorrow is a day for the GC.

02:08 No win today but you extend your lead on everyone else, 3 minutes 41 before the big mountains, what do you think of that?

02:16 I'm super happy, it's a good lead and tomorrow let's see, it's a queen stage but we are ready for the team, with the team and it's going to be a great stage I think.

02:29 We can be confident, we have a great lead until the second place, maybe from second to tenth place it's more tight so there is a place to fight for this, so we go at our own pace tomorrow, we do our own race and see how the legs are turning around and let's hope for a good day.

02:56 I know really well these areas here because they are close to Montechiari and sometimes we are coming here to do some trainings with the road bike, with the national team, with Philippo.

03:11 I have to say I was really hoping today for him, I was pushing for him and when I was sitting here in the last minutes of the race I was really nervous I have to say, but I'm happy that he won.

03:29 He did in the end a perfect race, so I'm really happy for him.

03:41 Tomorrow it will be completely different, mountains and maybe cold, what do you expect?

03:47 Tomorrow I'm expecting a tough day, I will try to be as much as possible with the principal group, but then it will be too much for me and for sure me and other sprinters we will do the typical gruppetto and we will try to make it until the finish line of course.

04:16 I hope for the weather actually, I really hope for the weather because when we will arrive in Livigno we are in high altitude and they told me that in the last days it was not perfect there, but we will see what happens tomorrow.

04:43 Today I finished sixth and I'm super happy. This morning I was a bit scared about this time trial, but now at the end I'm super happy about my performance.

04:56 You lose 12 seconds on Tyman Ahrensman who looks like your main rival, how do you rate that?

05:04 I'm quite happy that I lose only 12 seconds because I know he is really strong on the time trial and now I'm still on the white jersey and tomorrow we have a really hard stage and now I'm full focused for tomorrow to maintain the jersey.

05:22 Do you know the Mortirolo?

05:24 Mortirolo, I really like super hard climbs, I know a bit and I like it.

05:33 Are you more of a climber or more of a time trialist these days?

05:37 I think more climber, I feel better on the climbs.
