00:00Fans are allowed back into wrestling shows!
00:02Hooray, says Wrestling Promotions, come on in!
00:06Before the fans immediately jump the barricades and rush the ring like dying men in the desert
00:09lunging for a glass of water.
00:11Oh no, says Wrestling Promotions, we forgot how awful each and every one of you truly
00:16are.
00:17I'm kidding.
00:18Kind of.
00:19And don't get me wrong, by an overwhelming margin, live fan attendance makes wrestling
00:22shows better, much better.
00:24Good riddance Thunderdome, you uncanny valley of digital puppets, but as we turn a pretty
00:29significant core in how watchable wrestling is about to become, perhaps a quick reminder
00:33that fans aren't always peaches and rainbows.
00:35Basically, this list is a public service reminder for people not to be a dick, which is secretly
00:40what all of our lists are about.
00:42Don't be a dick.
00:43I'm Adam Hailing from PartsFunknown, and here are 10 times wrestling fans invaded the
00:47show.
00:48What's the weirdest bit of fan behaviour you've ever seen at a live show?
00:50Let me know in the comments, I'll reply to the top most voted ones.
00:53And make sure you subscribe to PartsFunknown, turn on your notifications so you never miss
00:56a stupid list I write with my stupid brain.
00:59Hooray.
01:0010.
01:01Judas In Your Head
01:02So let's start with the reason why we're doing this list.
01:05Literally AEW's first dynamite away from Daley's Place, except one fet out the door
01:09and some self-aggrandising helmet tries to rush the ring.
01:12This is why we don't deserve nice things.
01:15During a segment between Montel Jontavious Forter and his dad who really didn't want
01:19to do all of this on their one custody weekend a month, a fan hopped onto the rampway, ripped
01:23off his shirt like he was ready to go 60 minutes, before immediately getting grabbed
01:27by security.
01:28Jericho managed to throw a punch at the fan before he was removed.
01:31To further complicate the story, someone claiming to be the fan then took to Twitter, tweeting
01:35at Jim Cornette claiming he did it for him, to prove that wrestling is no longer a safe
01:40space for friends to dance around and play dress up.
01:43Getting all sorts of terrifying vibes from that, to which Cornette responds by calling
01:46the fan a dipshit and blocking him.
01:48Lovely.
01:49Well done everyone.
01:50Gold stars for humanity all around.
01:529.
01:53The Shield reunites.
01:54Sort of.
01:55So it's not just glassy eyed Kurt Angle looking like he's going trick or treating with his
01:59teenage kids who'd rather be at home.
02:01Turns out anyone could join the Shield if they try hard enough and are willing to get
02:04yeeted into oblivion by six security guards called Big Malcolm.
02:07At Night of Champions 2015, the Wyatt family were scheduled to face off against Roman Reigns,
02:12Dean Ambrose and whomever's inside the mystery box.
02:15That turned out to be Chris Jericho, but before he made his entrance, a fan who looked a little
02:19like Joey Mercury rushed into the ring wearing a black vest and fatigues to stand alongside
02:26Roman and Dean for immediately getting blitzed.
02:29It's been cut from the network, which makes sense, but it's also a bit of a shame as
02:32it means you can't go back and watch Bray Wyatt's amazing ad lib, pointing at the
02:36departing fan, laughing and saying, that's your guy?
02:39Not to be outdone by a Shield brother, Seth Rollins also found himself with fan backup
02:44that exact same month, just two weeks earlier on Raw in fact, as a fan who looked like the
02:48Pichu to Fred Durst's Pikachu hopped the rail and sauntered down the ring with Rollins
02:52for a six man tag, and props to Seth for no-selling it hilariously.
02:568.
02:57UK Fans Hit Rock Bottom
02:59It's been a good few weeks to be a sports fan in the UK, hasn't it, as our footy fans
03:03repeatedly embarrassed themselves on the road to the Euro finals by turning Leicester Square
03:07into a tree-tossing warzone and trying to break into the f***ing stadium.
03:11You stay classy, England.
03:12To prove that it's not just football we lose all airs and graces for, fans rushed
03:16the ring during an episode of Smackdown in April 2015, wait, a third one from 2015?
03:21What was it, the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Moron?
03:23No, actually it was the Year of the Goat, which makes sense considering fans invaded
03:27a Daniel Bryan match, it's all connected, the truth is out there.
03:30The episode of Smackdown, filmed in London, oi oi, apples and pears have a banana, was
03:35main evented by a match pitting John Cena and Daniel Bryan vs Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.
03:40Fans who actually turned out to be YouTubers from a prank channel called Trollstation ran
03:44into the ring and fought each other, giving each other actually quite decent rock bottoms
03:48and brawling until they were removed.
03:50Fun fact, that match turned out to be Daniel Bryan's final match before he retired for
03:53three years.
03:54Again, not saying it was Trollstation's fault, I'm just asking questions.
03:587.
03:59Cena Grins LOL
04:00This may not come as news to some of you, but there was a time where fans really didn't
04:04like John Cena.
04:05That time might be right now for some of you clutching your CM Punk shirts to your chest
04:09and sobbing it should have been him.
04:11But in 2008, loads of people were irritated by the way Cena sat immutable, unchanging,
04:16goofy and persistent atop the WWE main event scene.
04:19So on June 2nd, when it came time for Cena to wrestle Jeff Hardy for a shot at Triple
04:23H's WWE Championship at Night of Champions, a fan thought, not this time, and rushed the
04:28ring to execute sloppy and uncoordinated justice.
04:31Amazingly, this one's still on the network, for us at least, don't know about you peacock
04:35cretins, and that's probably because Cena and Hardy stopped wrestling to watch the fan
04:39be escorted out, even cracking smiles and doing comedy shrugs at the crowd.
04:43Say what you want about Big Match John, the dude's crowd work instincts are on point
04:46as he whipped up the crowd into a frenzy following the rude interruption.
04:506.
04:51Macho's Gonna Kill You
04:52If there's one thing about the modern era, it's that if you invade the ring, you're
04:55slightly less likely to have an insane man from Wrestling's golden era punish you with
04:59insane man murder for hopping into the ring.
05:02In 2008, Cena laughed and shrugged.
05:04In 1999, Macho Man rugby tackled and leathered.
05:07I'm not saying Cena was right to not go after his fan, I'm not saying Macho was
05:11wrong to down an entire can of spinach and try to perform brain surgery on his fan through
05:15his goddamn ear, but yeah, things were scary in the past.
05:18It was the May 17th episode of WCW Monday Nitro in 1999, and Nitro in 1999 was a bloody
05:24chaotic nightmare of a place to be, even when everything stuck to the script.
05:28Case in point, earlier in the night, Randy Savage and Medusa wrestled Ric Flair and his
05:32mini me lil nate Charles Robinson in a match that's famous for Savage accidentally collapsing
05:36Robinson's lung with an elbow drop.
05:38Anyway, later that show, Savage attacked Kevin Nash, giving him an impromptu makeover with
05:43some lipstick making him look like an NFL drag queen, when a fan rushed to make the
05:46save before getting demolished by Savage.
05:50He speared him to the ground and wailed on him.
05:52Naturally, it's still on the network, as WWE aren't going to waste time making it
05:55look like WCW had their shit together.
05:58Number 5, this fucking guy.
06:00This is probably the most annoying one, for real, fuck this dude.
06:03At the 2019 Hall of Fame, which saw Bret Hart receive his second induction, this time
06:07for being part of the Hart Foundation, a white man in a reggae hat and dreads, and really
06:11isn't that all you need to know, slid into the ring and tackled a 61 year old man to
06:15the ground.
06:16During an induction that was half to honour Jim Nidale who had died the previous year,
06:20once more with feeling, fuck this dude.
06:22Hart injured his hip, but finished the speech because he's the goddamn hitman, it would
06:26take more than this scrawny ass to take him out.
06:28As you can imagine, attacking a beloved and respected figure on a night where several
06:32wrestlers were both in attendance and emotional, proved to not be the soundest of strategies
06:37as the man received numerous blows, including a savage one from the man then called Dash
06:41Wilder as he was led away by a swarm of muscled people who hated his guts.
06:46Number 4, Latino Beat.
06:48Why would you piss off Eddie Guerrero?
06:49You will get burned by his Latino heat, you silly sausage.
06:52Eddie really had bad luck with WWE ladder matches.
06:55At SummerSlam 2005, during his custody of Dominic in the bank match, Vickie was late
07:00for her cue, prompting him to blow his top and shout, where the fuck is Vickie?
07:04His match at Judgment Day 2003 saw his partner Chavo be hit with an injury and miss the show,
07:08meaning he won the tag titles with random ass Tajiri, and then there's this match
07:12against Rob Van Dam on the 27th of May episode of Raw 2002, Eddie vs Ronald Van Donald in
07:18a ladder match for the IC title, including a closing spot, promoting a Steve Austin-Eddie
07:22Guerrero feud that would sadly never actually pay off.
07:25During the match, in a moment that's surprisingly still on the network, Eddie's climbing the
07:29ladder when a man rushes the ring and pushes the ladder out from under him, which is super
07:33fucking dangerous, and Eddie, quite aware of how super fucking dangerous it was, smacks
07:38a guy upside the head as security take him down, before getting in a few kicks in while
07:42he's being bundled out of the ring, what a silly fan.
07:45Number 3, The Good Son.
07:47Les Dawson made a living off making mother-in-law jokes, and here are some of them.
07:50Forgive me if I'm down, tomorrow is the mother-in-law's funeral, and she's cancelled
07:54it.
07:55Walked into a bar and saw six men attacking the mother-in-law.
07:58I said no, six of them should manage it.
08:00And I can always tell when the mother-in-law's coming to stay, the mice throw themselves
08:04on the traps.
08:05Bit of fun.
08:06But one person who earned brownie points with his mother-in-law-to-be was Triple H.
08:09On the March 20th, 2000 episode of Raw, On the Road to WrestleMania 2000, which was just
08:14a few weeks prior, at least one fan saw the McMahon in every corner, writing on the wall,
08:18and like we all did, tried their best to stop it.
08:21By even weirder, it's still on the network, go back and take a look at the last remaining
08:25chivalry from Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
08:272.
08:28New World Disorder
08:29When trying to figure out a list of the most important moments in the history of American
08:33wrestling, the first WrestleMania is one, WCW closing its doors is another, but high
08:37on that list needs to be the formation of the NWO, when Hulk Hogan turned heel and helped
08:43to usher in the most beloved boom period in the history of wrestling.
08:47That night in the summer of 1996 is etched into everyone's memories, the Outsiders vs
08:52Sting, Luger and Macho, with Hogan appearing as the third man for cutting the prome of
08:56his life on you people.
08:58What's less often remembered is how one time traveller who saw the bloated mess the
09:02NWO would become, travelled back to that night and tried to stop it.
09:05It didn't go well.
09:07The moment after Randy Savage's help from the ring, the fan enters and immediately runs
09:10into a fist from Kevin Nash, no plan survives first contact with the enemy, the fans brought
09:15down when Scott Hall decides to give him a few not-so-worked stomps to the head for good
09:19measure.
09:20The attack's actually edited out of the network, which in this case makes sense, it's
09:24the biggest heel turn of all time, so clean it up.
09:28But if you want to see one that's actually left in, check out the main event of Starrcade
09:32that year, where a fan actually interrupts the finish of the main event between Hogan
09:36and Piper, prompting Hogan and the ref to both put the boots in.
09:40I mean, who'd interrupt the main event of the biggest show of the year, right?
09:43Number 1, a streaker interrupts the main event of Wrestlemania 23.
09:48The main event of Wrestlemania, the most important match on the most important card
09:52in that year's wrestling calendar, and someone tried to get their cock and two bollocks out
09:56in the ring.
09:57Needless to say, you won't find this on the network, it has been hastily trimmed, but
10:01the unedited footage shows Cena being checked over by the ref before the match begins, then
10:05Michael's being checked over, and then a man rushes in thinking, hey, check me too,
10:10and removes his shirt.
10:11Kyoda rushes him, and the camera pulls away like a car swerving to avoid a deer in the
10:15headlights.
10:16The ref was evidently screaming in the announcer's ears to please ignore the would-be nudist,
10:20which was a message that didn't get to Michaels, who sat on the turnbuckle, smirking and waving
10:25goodbye to the man as he was being led away by security guards, which JR tried to hurriedly
10:29explain away as, uh, Michaels, gotta think he's playing some more mind games with John
10:34Cena.
10:35Sure, that'll do.
10:37Meanwhile, in Iowa, a young Seth Rollins was watching a man try to turn the singles main
10:41event of Mania into a triple threat, and coming up with a devilish scheme.
10:46And that's our list.
10:47What are the fan invasions that you remember?
10:48Let us know in the comments.
10:49Don't forget to like and subscribe to PartsFunknown for more silly wrestling content.
10:53Jam that Jam.
