HRD CORP to sponsor 1,000 truckers to get E licence, says Loke

The Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) will sponsor 1,000 lorry drivers to obtain a Class E licence and goods driver licence (GDL).  Transport Minister Anthony Loke told reporters after chairing the National Logistics Task Force (NLTF) meeting on Friday (May 17) that the initiative was a collaboration between the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Human Resources to enable more people to be trained as lorry drivers and get a higher salary return. 00:11 In addition to the initiative implemented by the Clang Investment Agency to train haulier drivers to obtain the E and GDL license,

00:22 another initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Human Resources through HRD Corp,

00:30 where HRD Corp will sponsor 1,000 places to train and provide E and GDL license to new hauliers.

00:42 This means that those who are qualified to obtain the E and GDL license will be trained and undergo the training and finally obtain the E and GDL license,

00:58 which will cost 2,000 to 3,000 ringgit per person and will be fully sponsored by HRD Corp.
