00:00 Hi, this is Abhig Bhattacharya from Outlook Magazine.
00:08 Today we are going to have a conversation with Congress candidate in Hazaribagh Lok
00:13 Shah constituency, JB Patel.
00:16 JB Patel has a history of sort of switching parties.
00:20 He started his career in JMM in 2011.
00:24 Thereafter, he switched to BJP in 2019 and recently has come back to Congress.
00:31 JB Patel, first of all, what is your main electoral issue in Hazaribagh constituency?
00:38 First of all, the situation of the entire country is under the control of NDA government,
00:50 under the leadership of Modi Ji.
00:53 People want to improve the state of the country.
00:58 That is why Congress has given a slogan that the situation will change by itself.
01:04 The Lok Sabha from Hazaribagh constituency, where we are fighting the elections,
01:08 there are many issues here on the local level.
01:14 The problem is that it is necessary to solve it.
01:17 You can go to the main areas, there is a coal mining area,
01:21 Mandu, Ramgarh, Badka village,
01:25 where there are many government facilities,
01:29 companies like CCL, NTC, NTC,
01:35 and many others, like Tirveni.
01:40 So, people in this area have a big problem of disestablishment.
01:47 People are giving their land and crops with love.
01:54 And when they are going out of the village,
01:56 because the companies are mining there,
01:59 it is very painful for them.
02:03 So, they feel that they are being given a different place.
02:10 Because the companies are not providing proper compensation,
02:13 not giving proper jobs,
02:15 not providing proper water supply.
02:19 People are being displaced from their homes.
02:24 And the villages are polluted.
02:28 People's lives are being affected.
02:32 Are you raising this issue in the elections?
02:34 I am definitely in the BJP's Sadan, I am an MLA.
02:41 I am always here for the rehabilitation,
02:43 for the people who are being exploited,
02:46 for the companies of the Indian government.
02:49 I am always here for the rehabilitation,
02:51 for the people who are being exploited,
02:56 One thing that comes to mind is that in this election,
02:58 land jihad, vote jihad,
03:00 all these issues are being brought up by the BJP again and again.
03:04 How are you thinking about combating this?
03:09 I don't think it is right to answer the questions of the people who are being displaced.
03:20 I am a historian, I keep my own point of view.
03:25 And I focus on how to solve the problems of the region in the future.
03:31 Because I believe in development, I believe in taking everyone together.
03:41 I don't believe in any caste or creed.
03:47 So, at one time, you joined your own party,
03:52 and then you left the party.
03:55 What happened in the meantime that you couldn't accept the BJP's ideology and came back to Congress?
04:06 My father is a Jharkhand movement activist.
04:11 He played an important role in the Jharkhand movement.
04:15 Vinod Babu, Guruji, and then Teklal Babu's place in this area.
04:20 He was an organization leader, a pillar of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
04:25 He was the leader of the second line after Guruji.
04:30 So, we saw a lot of things in the BJP.
04:35 The organization we used to organize here is a different type.
04:41 Our thoughts are different, their thoughts are different.
04:43 How is it different?
04:45 It is different because we started with the Jharkhand politics.
04:51 We organize our thoughts and ideas here.
04:55 There are only a few people who see everything.
04:58 Everyone here is an organization, and has the freedom to speak.
05:05 Nationally, one thing is said about Hazaribagh is the city of Ram Navami.
05:10 Whenever Ram Navami happens, the entire nation looks towards Hazaribagh.
05:16 So, in this regard, the communal violence and all that has happened in Ram Navami,
05:20 if you were to choose MP,
05:23 what would be the next step?
05:25 Whatever happens in Ram Navami,
05:28 the frequency of violence will decrease, and this violence will not happen.
05:33 Look, I have been hoping that the entire festival of Shanti Piriya will be celebrated.
05:40 This is the beauty of our democracy.
05:43 In this free India, our constitution has given us the right to live and worship our religion.
05:52 But the truth is that we try to bring everyone together.
06:02 In Ram Navami, I met the district administration and the Chief Minister,
06:09 and they said that at any cost, the festival of Shanti Piriya should be celebrated.
06:15 We will also try to make the festival of Shanti Piriya a part of our collective brotherhood.
06:22 Last one thing, after Hemant Surin went to jail,
06:28 BJP has said that this is a corrupted government,
06:32 Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Congress is corrupt, and the whole thing is corrupt.
06:36 How are you seeing this and how are you trying to work against it?
06:41 First, Hemant has been sent to jail on the basis of which he has not written a signature anywhere.
06:57 Like our CM of Jharkhand says that he has not written a signature anywhere,
07:02 yet he has been forced to go to jail.
07:04 And if we talk about BJP,
07:07 the electoral bond to hide from anyone in the country has turned out to be a big scam.
07:12 Give chanda, take dhanda.
07:16 And all the corrupt people in the country,
07:22 who have been accused of corruption, are going to BJP.
07:29 BJP should be open-minded and say that I will not make anyone a member of BJP who has been accused of corruption.
07:38 What is the compulsion that you include them?
07:41 And not just one place, there are dozens of big leaders,
07:46 from Maharashtra to other places, from Bengal to other places,
07:50 there are hundreds of such leaders who have been accused of corruption.
07:54 The BJP is making such people a member of the party and giving them support.
08:00 Last question, 14 seats,
08:03 we saw the last two times that Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha performed very badly.
08:09 What is your expectation this time?
08:12 There are many things.
08:13 Sometimes it happens in an organization, sometimes in an organization.
08:19 This time, the JMM Congress has brought the winning candidate everywhere.
08:32 Wherever they are fighting, they have chosen the candidate with a lot of thought.
08:37 And this time, the people of the country have decided that the government should be formed under the leadership of the India Gatwandan.
08:45 People of Jharkhand have also understood that we give 12 MPs to BJP,
08:50 sometimes 13, sometimes 12,
08:53 but after today, the MPs of Jharkhand,
08:57 where there are such big mines, minerals, and rich resources,
09:03 which are from the Indian government,
09:04 their MPs cannot do anything in Delhi.
09:08 If there is any discussion in Badka village, Mandu, Ramgarh, then Modi will not come.
09:13 The public voted for Modi, and their candidates still say that vote for Modi, not for us.
09:20 But Jai Prakash Bhai Patel says, vote for Jai Prakash Bhai Patel,
09:24 so that I will be with you for 24 hours.
