00:00Charlie, looking at Wolves now, obviously a strange season at moments. It was magnificent.
00:07They had that run in late December where they were the most informed team in the league.
00:11It was quite fantastic at times and Gary O'Neill has done a fantastic job overall. Obviously,
00:17it's sort of petered out near the end of this season with injuries and, you know, lack of
00:22spending in January sort of played a bit of a part as well. And then you had the possibility
00:27of an FA Cup semi-final which was snatched away. Looking back at their season, has there
00:32been many standout moments for you? You know, at the end of the day, it's been another season
00:36in the Premier League, another season with some good results and they can certainly build
00:42on it next season.
00:43I think there's been a few standout moments, yeah. That December, as you mentioned, was
00:48such a fantastic time for Wolves and the belief really there to get into the top half and
00:52somewhere that fans wouldn't have expected, especially of rival clubs, they were putting
00:57Wolves down as relegation candidates at the start of the season. So, to see them beating
01:00the big dogs in the top six and getting into that top half contention was very impressive
01:04and then there was even talk at one point, could they get into European places? Well,
01:08obviously the injuries, the lack of squad depth stopped them from being able to do that
01:12but they're not far away. Had it not been for many VAR calls throughout the season going
01:17against Wolves, who knows what could have happened? But for me, I think beating West
01:22Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup was just a huge, huge day. Away at the Hawthorns as well, 2-0,
01:28quite a comfortable win. The scoreline might not suggest it was that comfortable, only
01:31two goal win, but anything can happen in these big derby games and especially in a black
01:36country derby. You saw how much it meant to fans, there was a stoppage at the end, fans
01:41getting in a brawl in one of the far corners. It meant so, so much to both football clubs.
01:45So, for Wolves to get on top in that one was so important and I think as well that the
01:49double over Tottenham Hotspur, winning away at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is no easy feat
01:54and then of course doing it at home as well in such style, 1-0 down in the 90th minute
01:59and still winning, such a fantastic day that was. In the press box, I already had my report
02:05wrapped up and ready to publish with a 1-0 win. To go and win, I couldn't believe it.
02:10They scrapped up my report but I didn't care. What a moment that was for Wolves and the
02:14togetherness of the football club that day, the atmosphere at Molyneux, what a moment.
02:19Yes, I think you've really hit the nail on the head there. As a Wolves fan and seeing
02:24the pressure of getting drawn away to West Bromwich Albion, the FA Cup is a competition
02:30that has lost some fans over the last few years. It's something that we saw Newcastle
02:35draw Sunderland, we saw West Brom draw Wolves. These ties really bring fans back together
02:42and back towards the fantastic competition. In my opinion, it's the best competition in
02:47all of sport. Yes, fantastic moments from a Wolves fan perspective. That Spurs game
02:54and just showing that Gary O'Neill can compete with the big boys. He plays his adjustable
02:59tactics and I think he was absolutely fantastic. It's not been the most pretty season at the
03:06back end, finishing near the bottom of the middle table, but certainly stuff to work
03:13on as long as they keep Gary O'Neill in the summer.
