00:14 The Senate is investigating the wiretapping that was conducted by the Chinese Embassy in the AFP Western Command.

00:24 According to Senator Francis Tolentino, it is possible that there is a violation of the wiretapping law of the Philippines.

00:30 But if the law is clear,

00:32 What we are talking about here was there indeed a wiretapping.

00:38 We are not saying here that there is an acknowledgement,

00:43 there is implied recognition that there was indeed a new model.

00:48 That's not it.

00:49 The mere fact that there was a wiretapping, even if it was just a ceremonial greeting,

00:56 "Good afternoon", "Ni hao", "Tinap mo", that's a violation of the wiretapping law.

01:02 The Senate is planning to invite officials of the Chinese Embassy.

01:06 But the question is, will they be forced?

01:08 We cannot force them.

01:10 So probably it would just confirm something that they are still being persecuted.

01:17 The law of the host country should be the same as those who went here.

01:21 And if it is confirmed that the Chinese Embassy's officials really violated the law,

01:30 they can file a diplomatic protest, they can expel and reduce the staff.

02:14 they did not receive any hate emails from the Filipinos who are being harassed by the Chinese.
