00:00About 11 years.
00:02And are you Sheffield born and bred?
00:04No, I moved from, well yes I am sorry, I moved from Hillsborough and then we moved to Todley 11 years ago, 2013.
00:13Oh great, and what made you do that move?
00:16Family really, so we've got two children and when we had our daughter we realised that we wanted to live in a, probably a more calmer area.
00:28And we wanted a nice school for them and so yeah, we moved to Todley.
00:34Oh great, and is this a nice place to bring up children?
00:36It is yeah, I mean you've got the Peak District 10 minutes away and then you're close to the town centre as well.
00:43Oh lovely, and what are the schools like?
00:46Well his daughter goes to the local King Egbert school, secondary, and the son's at Todley Primary School and they're both brilliant schools.
00:5629, 30 years.
00:59Okay, so what's your opinion? I mean you've stayed quite a while, I'm going to assume positive.
01:04Yeah, I like Todley, nice people, friendly, yeah, right on the edge of the countryside, perfect.
01:11Brilliant, and I see you've got two dogs, is this a good place to be a dog owner?
01:15Definitely, there's lots of woods to walk.
01:20Lovely, and where is it that you used to live? I can tell it's not a Sheffield accent.
01:24Originally Scotland, I was from, and then I moved out into Derbyshire and then moved here.
01:30Oh brilliant, do you think this is your forever home now?
01:33Don't know, might be North Wales.
01:37Angles in the country, lovely.
01:41Oh lovely, that's great.
01:44It's lovely, we get a lot of support from the locals.
01:48Yeah, it's nice, it's a nice place to have one.
01:52Very lucky, it's on the edge of a busy street, there's a lot of local walks, we get a lot of people walking.
02:00Well I must like it, I've been here ten years.
02:03Gosh, and where did you come from?
02:05Well I've always lived in Todley, but we've had this cafe for ten years.
02:08Wow.
02:09And it's changed a lot since we've had it, hence the name change.
02:14It was what I needed and I changed it to Mirai, but we're more of a coffee shop now probably than a cafe.
02:21But also a bakery.
02:23Lovely.
02:24And ten years, I mean that's an achievement. What do you think's helped you get to this point?
02:29Is it the community, local support?
02:31It's definitely a lot of local support.
02:33In Covid, no one knew what was going to happen and we were just all so concerned that we were doing alright.
02:40We just come in and buy little things, we want you here, so we can when it's finished.
02:47They love playing, a lot of them are just popping coffee and it's a chat as much as anything.
02:54It's more like a club than a cafe sometimes.
