00:00 This will be my fourth Met Gala.
00:03 To me, it sort of feels like this unveiling me
00:06 as an adult in fashion in a way.
00:09 [upbeat music]
00:11 We are in Paris, and it's so romantic out.
00:20 Look at the weather.
00:21 Ah, sunny blue skies.
00:24 Paris in February.
00:27 It's not what you see in the movies, people.
00:30 It is a little gloomy, but in my heart,
00:32 there's a sunny blue sky out
00:34 because today is a really exciting day.
00:37 It's my first Met Gala meeting.
00:40 My first one.
00:41 It's February 29th.
00:42 The Met is obviously the first Monday in May.
00:44 I'm here at the Jean-Paul Gaultier office.
00:47 Yeah, I dressed for the occasion.
00:49 Talk to you later.
00:50 [laughing]
00:53 Let's go in.
00:56 [laughing]
00:59 Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.
01:02 It's Jared, my stylist and my best friend, and...
01:07 Yeah.
01:10 Hello, hello.
01:11 Hi.
01:12 How are you, sweetie?
01:14 Oh, such a pleasure.
01:15 How is everything?
01:16 So good.
01:17 How are you guys?
01:19 We're so--
01:20 Rainy.
01:21 Excited.
01:22 We are cold, but we're excited.
01:23 There we are.
01:24 We can't wait.
01:25 We're excited about this too.
01:26 Thanks so much.
01:27 [upbeat music]
01:30 What do you think?
01:39 There's a lot of attitude here.
01:40 People hate these on me, but I don't care what they say.
01:43 Jared, this is how you can walk me.
01:49 Oh, perfect.
01:50 When I'm going shopping,
01:51 he can be like, "Emma, that's ugly."
01:53 There's no sewing machine, so everything's by hand.
01:55 Wow.
01:56 It probably takes, I mean, how long to make one gown?
02:00 It takes a lot of time.
02:02 So that's why we're starting now.
02:03 With the Met, you can never start too early.
02:05 No.
02:06 How cute!
02:10 Yeah, it's amazing.
02:11 Whoa, that view is unbelievable.
02:13 This is so good.
02:14 Yeah.
02:15 I actually am gonna,
02:16 we're gonna take a 30-second detour
02:18 for me to get clips for my vlog.
02:20 I'm being so selfish right now,
02:24 and I'm stopping everything for my own benefit.
02:27 You have to get B-roll whenever you can for the video.
02:29 You get it, I know you get it.
02:31 Oh my God, this is B-roll central.
02:34 Soak that up, camera guy.
02:36 Ooh!
02:37 This is pretty good.
02:38 This is amazing.
02:39 I love Paris.
02:40 I won't move here, but I do like it.
02:43 It's just too far from my mom,
02:45 and she books my doctor's appointments.
02:47 I would not go to the doctor without her.
02:50 She also books my dentist appointments.
02:52 I'm only 22, so don't say shit to me.
02:54 Let's go.
03:01 Awesome.
03:02 Thank you.
03:03 They're probably like,
03:05 "Who's this random little girl in our office?
03:07 "Get her out of here.
03:08 "Our job is stressful enough.
03:09 "Get the 12-year-old out of the office."
03:12 Ooh!
03:12 Magdalena that does the sketching.
03:15 Hello, how are you?
03:17 Emma, nice to meet you.
03:19 So now we're gonna have a little brainstorm
03:21 of the options and what we'd like
03:23 from the archives of the brand
03:25 so we can create this amazing look.
03:28 The theme of The Met is the Garden of Time,
03:30 which is a short story.
03:32 This is sort of a enchanted fantasy-like theme.
03:36 It is sort of about life and death of nature in a way.
03:41 The underbelly of nature.
03:43 I don't know, I think that's maybe
03:44 a slightly different approach, edgier approach.
03:47 Of the garden, yes.
03:49 More intriguing approach.
03:51 Than floral.
03:51 Yeah.
03:53 That's one of the most challenging balances
03:54 is making something really beautiful,
03:56 but also giving it the intrigue, of course,
03:59 but also giving it a bit of edge.
04:01 The Met, it's the time to put on a show in a way,
04:05 with your look, right?
04:07 We're thinking for carpet,
04:08 something potentially like a sheer skirt
04:11 that feels like it's decomposing,
04:14 that can detach and then she can either wear
04:16 just the bodysuit and stockings
04:19 or a little mini skirt on top that's a similar vibe.
04:22 This also, that was upstairs,
04:24 something that's unraveling and coming apart
04:28 and feels like it's gonna fall apart
04:30 as you're walking up the steps.
04:32 Very fragile.
04:33 Yes.
04:34 And we can be playful.
04:36 We're sticking to brown.
04:37 Yeah, I like brown.
04:39 I like it, but I think it's a dark brown.
04:42 Yeah, I feel like it's a rich, rich brown.
04:44 Okay.
04:45 Are you ever gonna be talking into a mic?
04:47 Yes.
04:48 We're gonna customize the mic.
04:49 (gasps)
04:50 Can we customize the mic?
04:52 Yeah, do you know what?
04:53 I'm answering that question.
04:54 Yes, let's customize the mic.
04:55 Even if we can't customize the mic?
04:56 So it comes out of my arm.
04:58 Oh!
04:59 Wait, a little head touch.
05:00 High five for that.
05:01 I love that, wow.
05:02 That's so good.
05:03 Okay, we're talking to them about that.
05:04 That's easy, that's totally fine.
05:06 I'm obsessed.
05:07 Wow, that's amazing.
05:07 So what we do now is that we have all your ideas.
05:11 In two weeks, we're gonna have to come back
05:13 with a first sketch.
05:16 Our deer.
05:18 Our deer, this is already doing the start of it
05:21 after what we were mentioning.
05:23 That's so gorgeous.
05:25 Yeah, that's stunning.
05:26 We're so excited.
05:27 We're so ready.
05:28 Amazing.
05:28 Thank you so much.
05:29 Thank you.
05:30 Yay!
05:31 Yay, thank you.
05:32 We're doing it, we're so doing it.
05:33 Fantastic.
05:34 Just before we end, we need to take your measurements
05:36 so we get everything perfect.
05:38 Perfect, let's do it.
05:44 We are going to the Cartier store
05:46 to do a fitting for the Met.
05:50 How do you feel?
05:51 I feel excited, how do you feel?
05:52 I feel so excited.
05:53 It's all happening, so this is so exciting.
05:57 Oh, the door's being opened for me.
05:59 Thank you so much.
06:00 Okay, wow, there's a lot to look at here.
06:05 These are stunning.
06:06 What we're really looking for here
06:07 is a silhouette that can be found in nature.
06:10 Do you know what I mean?
06:11 I think this is such a great example of that
06:13 where that literally leaves, you know what I mean?
06:16 But also this feels very tulip-esque, right?
06:21 I think that's the vibe, right?
06:23 Absolutely.
06:23 We're ready to try on.
06:25 We'll try on all of this.
06:27 Great.
06:28 I know it's hard to imagine what it would look like
06:36 with a really beautiful gown,
06:38 considering what I look like now,
06:39 but we have to all use our imaginations and be patient.
06:42 Yeah, that's really nice.
06:43 It's beautiful.
06:44 I mean, I...
06:45 I think it's a great gold option.
06:49 It would be perfect for the theme.
06:51 It's perfect, it's very on theme.
06:52 Let's try something else.
06:53 And then I think next I have to try that watch.
06:58 And also that ring, to me, and that ring.
07:02 Yep.
07:03 That's so cool.
07:06 That's crazy.
07:07 I do have a weird ear hole.
07:09 It's like very crooked from getting scared at Claire's
07:12 when I was getting it pierced.
07:14 Not that there's anything wrong with Claire's.
07:16 Can we make it even a little shorter?
07:18 Oh, that's so nice on the skin.
07:22 That's amazing.
07:23 This whole sort of situation happening is really good.
07:26 I kind of think it would either,
07:28 like you would lose a ring.
07:31 Oh, for sure.
07:32 Jared, I didn't try all these on
07:33 'cause I want them all together, you know that, right?
07:35 You never know.
07:36 You never know with me.
07:38 You really don't.
07:40 I think depending on the final look,
07:42 you know, we can sort of refine what the situation is,
07:44 but I think all of these are such great options
07:46 that do all feel very much on theme.
07:50 I think delicate pieces are like, that is, you know.
07:54 Speaking of delicate, we should try on the alligator,
07:56 even though it is more of a strong,
07:59 we might as well try it.
08:00 For sure.
08:01 Maybe there's a juxtaposition
08:02 between this gorgeous falling apart dress
08:05 and this alligator coming to town.
08:08 What's the other name?
08:08 Alligator and Kate and, no.
08:11 What's the other one?
08:12 Crocodile?
08:13 Oh my God, I forgot what a crocodile was.
08:14 That's good to know.
08:15 I don't know which one is which.
08:16 I think that looks like an alligator to me.
08:18 It's a crocodile.
08:19 Great.
08:20 Ah, perfect.
08:21 That's actually really cool.
08:22 And I mean, so fun.
08:23 It's like, my dress is like a swamp
08:25 and then there's a crocodile.
08:27 That's kind of epic.
08:28 This watch to me,
08:30 The watch could work.
08:30 Weirdly could work.
08:31 I think so.
08:32 Because even though it is a very strong piece,
08:33 it does have this sort of dainty undertone.
08:36 What time is it?
08:37 Oh, I can't read analog.
08:39 I only read digital, baby.
08:41 2001.
08:42 [upbeat music]
08:44 Now we get to have a little treat as a reward.
08:53 It's like, as we need,
08:54 we don't need to be rewarded
08:56 for trying on beautiful jewelry.
08:57 [upbeat music]
09:00 Oh.
09:05 Wow.
09:06 That's a classy young man.
09:07 Isn't it crazy?
09:08 Cartier champagne.
09:12 I have one just out in my house.
09:13 That's good.
09:14 Really?
09:15 Yeah, but I'm too scared to pop the bottle
09:16 of champagne myself.
09:17 So I'm waiting for a big strong man to do it for me.
09:20 Next steps.
09:21 I mean, first we sleep on it.
09:22 We took some photos.
09:24 We have a couple favorites.
09:26 Mostly we just have to start figuring out
09:28 how it combines with the dress.
09:29 So that's a discussion with the designer.
09:31 That's the key.
09:32 I think that's the key too,
09:33 because you can fall in love with one piece.
09:35 Like you can fall in love with a makeup look
09:38 for this theme.
09:40 You can fall in love with jewelry for this theme,
09:42 a dress for this theme,
09:43 but it has to all make sense together.
09:46 Totally.
09:47 That is always the challenge,
09:48 but I think we now are familiar with what's available
09:52 and what really works for this theme,
09:54 and I think we can,
09:55 well, it's like little tweaks here and there.
09:57 Okay, great, we're good.
09:58 I think we're good.
09:59 See you in a month.
10:01 No, I'll see you literally right now.
10:03 You're getting in the car with me.
10:04 Okay.
10:05 [phone ringing]
10:07 - Hi everyone.
10:08 Hope you're excited.
10:09 We're gonna show the final sketches
10:11 for this amazing Met costume moment.
10:14 - So this is how I take my Zoom calls with my little buddy.
10:17 - So here we have, I think, the final idea.
10:24 What do you think, guys?
10:26 I mean, this is amazing.
10:27 Jared?
10:28 - I think it's gorgeous.
10:30 I mean, this is exactly what we're hoping for, so.
10:32 - Like the one on the far right, it's so amazing.
10:35 It's so beautiful.
10:36 - So after we have the interview dress,
10:40 so mainly here we take off the long train
10:44 and we take off the sheer part
10:46 and we just into the corsetry, the details.
10:50 We wanted to show you just the lace here.
10:55 I feel like I'm leaning towards probably the first two.
11:00 - I like the, I think the first one feels the most like-
11:03 - True to the, true to our vision.
11:06 - Yeah, it feels like it's cracking at the seams,
11:08 which is really nice.
11:09 - It's cracking at the seams, the idea, yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:11 - We just had our first, actually no,
11:13 that wasn't our first Zoom meeting.
11:15 That was actually our second Zoom meeting.
11:18 About the dress!
11:19 Digital sort of renderings of things
11:23 don't paint the full picture, and I know that.
11:25 I always know that.
11:26 With all the textures and like, you know,
11:29 the different opacities of, is that even a word?
11:33 Let's Google that.
11:34 I don't know, but all these variables in person
11:39 add to the dimension and the texture
11:42 and the feel of the look, but it looks so amazing so far.
11:47 You know, this is the most involved I think Jared and I
11:50 have ever been in designing a dress.
11:54 Obviously the Jean-Paul Gaultier team,
11:57 they're getting down to business.
11:59 They're doing the nitty gritty,
12:00 but Jared and I, we've really gotten to collaborate.
12:05 This is just the most collaborative we've ever been.
12:08 It's nice to feel like you're a part of what you're wearing,
12:12 and I know for a fact that when I put this dress on,
12:15 it's gonna feel like mine because Jared and I,
12:20 and you know, the Jean-Paul Gaultier team
12:25 put our heads together to make this dress for me.
12:28 My God, I sound so conceited,
12:30 but it's not like that.
12:31 It's just, it's like truly me in a way, I think.
12:34 I've been in mine since the day of its conception.
12:36 Again, I don't like talking about myself like this.
12:38 I sound very conceited.
12:40 Do you think I'm conceited because I'm saying
12:41 that this dress, it feels like it's for me?
12:43 I know, mommy's conceited.
12:49 We have over a month until the event.
12:51 Still not that much time.
12:53 I'm very excited.
12:55 [upbeat music]
12:58 [upbeat music]
13:01 [laughing]
13:03 [upbeat music]
13:06 [upbeat music]
13:08 [upbeat music]
13:11 [upbeat music]
13:40 I feel like things with the Meg,
13:43 things slowly happen and then everything happens all at once.
13:47 I just bumped my table.
13:48 Right now we're a week out from our first fitting,
13:52 our first official fitting.
13:54 It's happening in Los Angeles.
13:55 A lot of the sort of like chatting and planning
13:57 and discussing has been happening like
14:00 at random hours of the day over text.
14:03 Like Jared and I have had so much stuff going on
14:05 that we haven't been able to like fully sit down
14:08 and talk about anything.
14:09 But this is how shit gets done.
14:13 You know what I mean?
14:13 You just have to like shoot text at 11 p.m. sometimes
14:16 and be like, "Hey, what do you think of this?"
14:17 And then, you know, go back and forth, whatever.
14:19 So that's kind of a lot of what's been happening.
14:21 For one, we started to figure out
14:22 what we're gonna do for hair.
14:24 And Jared had sort of this idea to do
14:27 some sort of kind of clip.
14:29 A clipped up sort of messy sort of hair.
14:31 But we wanna sort of, you know,
14:33 take a clip and re-imagine it using thorns
14:35 and things like that to sort of make the clip feel
14:39 a bit more whimsical and not just like a normal clip.
14:41 We've sort of started to send references
14:43 back and forth for makeup.
14:45 I love this one so much.
14:47 This is really cool too.
14:48 Dark, but with reflection to it, with dimension to it.
14:52 Something a bit greasier, oilier, you know.
14:54 It's all just sort of falling together.
14:56 Also, Jared sent me a picture one random day of the thorns.
15:01 So we ended up going with this bronzier thorn
15:03 for the details on the dress.
15:05 Again, things are happening, things are happening.
15:07 We also just got our first photo of,
15:08 oh, we also, oh my God, I'm sorry.
15:11 We also just got a photo of the microphone mock-up.
15:14 As you can see, there's thorns all over the microphone,
15:17 which is so cool.
15:19 So when I'm doing the interviews,
15:21 my microphone matches my outfit.
15:24 What else have we been discussing?
15:25 We have some shoe mock-ups,
15:27 platforms so that the heel doesn't hurt as much.
15:31 Jean Paul Gaultier started sending sort of sketches
15:33 of what the shoe's gonna look like,
15:34 which is really exciting.
15:35 They're making a shoe from scratch.
15:36 Also a lot of Cartier jewelry.
15:38 We had to choose between these two sets here.
15:41 This top one is what we ended up going with.
15:43 This feels like more nature-esque.
15:47 I feel like these are shapes that you find in nature,
15:49 whereas this is maybe less so.
15:50 We're also figuring out what watch we want.
15:53 I'm leaning towards this one.
15:54 However, I think Jared's leaning towards this one.
15:56 We're really getting somewhere.
15:58 We're really getting somewhere.
15:59 And I'm excited for the fitting.
16:00 It's sort of nerve-wracking though,
16:01 because you want it to be good.
16:04 You know, you're putting a lot of time and effort
16:06 into making it good.
16:07 And on top of that, the Jean Paul Gaultier team
16:09 is putting so much time and effort and love into this look.
16:13 And we want it to come together seamlessly
16:15 in a way that makes us all feel proud and excited.
16:18 So that's where we're at.
16:20 All right, talk to you later.
16:22 [gentle music]
16:24 [speaking in foreign language]
16:31 - Hi, hello.
16:32 - Hello.
16:35 - How are you?
16:36 - Hi, I'm good.
16:37 - Good to see you.
16:38 [laughing]
16:41 - Good to see you.
16:43 [gentle music]
16:46 - Hi.
17:03 - Hi.
17:04 - Hi.
17:04 - Oh my God, we're back.
17:06 - We're back, good to see you.
17:07 - How are you?
17:08 So good to see you.
17:09 - You too.
17:10 - Oh, hi, good to see you.
17:12 Oh my God, I'm so excited.
17:14 I'm like, oh, oh.
17:17 - Oh, oh, oh.
17:17 - Hold on, no, we're putting everything down.
17:20 Actually, I think I have to take my jacket off.
17:23 Like, it's just, oh, there's the camera.
17:25 I'm taking my jacket off.
17:27 Whoa.
17:28 Whoa.
17:33 Whoa.
17:34 In person, it's so delicate and beautiful.
17:38 Like, this is so unbelievable.
17:42 - You see the details?
17:43 - It's so detailed and it's so,
17:46 there is something about like seeing it in person.
17:48 It's so majestic.
17:50 Like, it just, you can't do that in a photo.
17:53 It's amazing.
17:54 It's gonna look, it's so, it's a sturdy piece,
17:58 but it's gonna be like, she's a piece of moss.
18:02 She's just underneath a tree and she's,
18:05 and there's pieces wisping off.
18:07 Like, it's gonna give that feeling.
18:08 I'm so excited.
18:10 We need to put it on.
18:11 - Okay, we're so happy that you're here.
18:13 - Are you kidding me?
18:14 I'm speechless about it.
18:15 It feels like I'm like,
18:16 it feels like I just gave birth and I'm seeing my baby.
18:20 Let's get it on.
18:21 (upbeat music)
18:29 - This is the interview look.
18:31 I'll be interviewing like this.
18:34 Actually, no, I'll be interviewing like this.
18:36 It's amazing.
18:38 I mean, like there's a few small tweaks to make to it,
18:41 but it's like pretty much there.
18:43 I mean, this is such an amazing,
18:46 like it looks so natural, this mesh with the lace on it.
18:50 Like it, it looks so real.
18:54 So they're corseting me up
18:55 and it's a little too comfortable.
18:57 So I'm telling them that they can actually go tighter.
18:59 So when they take this back to do the final edits,
19:01 they are going to make it a little tighter
19:03 because I can handle a lot.
19:05 Jared's put me through a lot,
19:06 but it's also because,
19:07 but I also like agree to be Jared's canvas.
19:11 So like it's, it's the bet I made for myself ultimately.
19:14 I'm like, you can do whatever you want.
19:16 Let's just do it right, babe.
19:18 Anything you want, Jared, anything you want to try.
19:20 This is your day.
19:22 It's your birthday.
19:23 I keep saying though,
19:24 there's something about the mat that feels like my birthday.
19:27 - That's really, every person in the world goes.
19:30 - Yes.
19:31 I tell myself, this is my birthday party, babes.
19:34 No one knows me.
19:35 No one talks to me.
19:36 - To every person you say, thank you for coming.
19:38 [laughing]
19:39 - It's like a shorter, cuter version of the actual look.
19:43 - Comfortable, but still like contained.
19:46 - Yep.
19:47 It's a different mindset, I think,
19:48 because I get to do the interviews as well.
19:50 I'm there for so much longer and I'm, you know,
19:54 I'm wearing more than one look.
19:55 It's very much showbiz.
19:57 This is Hollywood, baby.
19:58 I guess it's not, it's New York.
20:00 This is New York City, baby.
20:01 - Hollywood comes to New York.
20:02 - Hollywood comes to New York.
20:03 [upbeat music]
20:06 It's so nice.
20:09 - I think we can go short.
20:10 - I think we're going to make this a little shorter,
20:12 but other than that, I mean, it's absolutely perfect.
20:15 Basically like when at school dress code,
20:17 like what was too short, let's do that.
20:20 This is my fourth Met, right?
20:26 Which is crazy.
20:28 I'm growing up and a lot of people, I think,
20:31 know me as a very young person
20:34 because I started on the internet at a very young age.
20:37 And so a lot of people know me as a kid, which I get.
20:42 And sometimes I still see myself as a kid.
20:45 My sense of style and identity has evolved so much
20:50 as I've grown up the last few years.
20:52 And I want my looks to reflect that.
20:54 And it can be scary to evolve,
20:56 but we're both excited about it
20:58 because we're excited to make me feel more like
21:01 an adult woman, you know?
21:02 I guess, well, there's a double one, but an adult woman.
21:06 Oh my God, thank God it's getting long.
21:09 - That's gorgeous.
21:10 - Well, all my hair fell out.
21:11 - I love that.
21:12 - 'Cause I bleached it too much.
21:14 After the Met, I might cut it into a mullet.
21:16 - Hmm, let's talk about that.
21:17 - Jared does not want that.
21:19 A mullet with super micro bangs.
21:23 - You're on, you're on.
21:24 So pretty.
21:27 - Oh, I do love hair up with it because it's so,
21:30 it gives you full neck.
21:32 These are not the shoes, of course,
21:35 but these are just a similar shape and size.
21:38 So we can kind of get the vibe.
21:41 Wow, that looks absolutely amazing.
21:43 Wow, I love this.
21:45 We're gonna go try on the main dress now.
21:49 So this is when things are really gonna get good.
21:51 Jared, come close the curtain.
21:52 (Jared laughs)
21:54 I feel like that would be good for dramatic effect.
21:56 We will see you in the main dress.
22:00 - Just kidding.
22:01 - Bye.
22:02 (upbeat music)
22:07 The big reveal, although she's not done.
22:17 Okay. - There's a lot to do.
22:18 - There's a lot to do.
22:19 We're debating this netting on top.
22:22 I feel like it came from the idea
22:24 of wanting to do the short, more long dress,
22:27 but I don't know if we need it.
22:29 On the interview look, it's already closer to being finished.
22:32 So this is covered in this dark lace.
22:35 And we were talking about maybe we leave this exposed
22:38 and have it be this like champagne,
22:40 but I think it kind of takes away from the silhouette.
22:43 - We're also, we have this like,
22:46 this dress has like this big sort of gaping.
22:51 Oh God, it's so nice alone.
22:53 - Yeah.
22:54 I think let's, can we like-
22:55 - Whoa.
22:56 - Try it on.
22:57 - You think just like waist?
22:58 - Oh.
22:59 - Yeah, see that could be nice where it's like-
23:01 - Only at the bottom.
23:02 - Yeah.
23:03 - Let's see.
23:04 - What do you think?
23:04 - I mean, the only thing is-
23:05 - Bring it up.
23:06 - I kind of like-
23:07 - Oh, but that's kind of gorgeous though too,
23:09 where it's like-
23:10 - Flows.
23:11 - Gaping, floating thing.
23:12 - You can see the corset on the two.
23:14 - Yeah, it's-
23:15 - It looks like it's like in the wind.
23:17 - It's fancy.
23:18 - I take it back.
23:19 - But I just think it was the wrong,
23:20 it was just, it wasn't the wrong idea,
23:22 it was the wrong one.
23:22 This one's right.
23:24 That looks amazing.
23:25 That's so good.
23:26 This is amazing.
23:27 - For this one, because she isn't talking,
23:30 we can go, she's going to be in this for a little bit.
23:31 - Oh, you can make me so snatched.
23:34 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:35 - The snatch is ever.
23:37 Whoa, I can't breathe.
23:38 All good though.
23:39 (upbeat music)
23:42 - Oh, that is so nice.
23:45 I love like looking away for like five minutes
23:48 and looking back to see what happened.
23:50 Should I get a tattoo that says, "The Met Gala,"
23:53 so you can see it, Leroux?
23:54 This is like entering into Emma as a woman,
24:04 which I feel like has been this ongoing journey
24:06 that's been incredibly challenging.
24:08 Like it's been, it's been a sort of a battle to get there.
24:11 I think on a personal level for me,
24:13 feeling myself in things that feel more mature,
24:16 that feel more, you know, elevated in a way,
24:18 like it, that is goes against my nature in a lot of ways.
24:22 I've always been very, you can come in.
24:23 You want to come in and touch me?
24:25 Not like that, Jared.
24:29 Come on.
24:30 This is, come on, we're at work, Jared.
24:32 Oh, that is genius.
24:37 - Let's just see.
24:39 This is not the necklace.
24:40 This is when you have to use your imagination
24:42 because it's the wrong necklace and it's gold.
24:45 So you have to imagine the vibe.
24:48 So good though.
24:49 The diamond looks so nice.
24:51 - Yeah, it really does.
24:53 - First fitting is done.
25:01 Could not have gone more beautifully.
25:03 So much to be excited about.
25:05 And I mean, this is just going to be a dream come true.
25:10 I cannot wait.
25:11 I feel so confident and excited about the day now
25:14 because I feel so good about how I feel in the look
25:18 and how it like sits on me.
25:20 Like I just feel comfortable.
25:21 And so I'm so excited and everyone's love
25:25 and hard work has gone into this.
25:26 And it's such a special feeling.
25:29 And it's just, you know, it's like almost showtime.
25:33 High five, Jared.
25:35 (claps)
25:37 I can't wait.
25:38 See you then.
25:39 See you on the day of the Met
25:40 or like a few days before or something.
25:42 Whenever I see you again, I'll see you then.
25:44 Okay, so I'm back home from the fitting.
25:50 It truly could not have gone better.
25:52 Like I don't think I could have dreamt of a better fitting.
25:56 Wow, the cats are here to hang out right now.
26:01 Sorry, let me get them out of the way.
26:03 You're blocking my elbow, buddy.
26:04 Just seeing everything come to life was so exciting.
26:08 Like it didn't really feel real, I think, until now.
26:13 And I was shocked because the looks
26:15 are actually very comfortable.
26:16 Like I wasn't uncomfortable in the clothes,
26:19 which is shocking because usually the more beautiful
26:21 the garment, the more uncomfortable it is.
26:23 But in this case, so comfortable, very breathable,
26:27 very wearable, which is so important for me
26:29 because I do the interviews.
26:30 It's beautiful, it feels very me,
26:34 and the fitting was amazing.
26:38 And now I'm in bed.
26:40 I leave for the Met in what, a week and a half?
26:46 The only things I have left are a few appointments.
26:50 Number one, I have a nail appointment
26:52 because my nail artist is going to measure my nail beds
26:56 so that she can make nails that fit my nails perfectly.
27:01 So on the day of the Met,
27:03 we can just glue them on super quickly.
27:05 And then I also have a hair appointment
27:07 because my hair, I don't know.
27:09 Listen, I'm recovering from being a bleach blonde,
27:12 so my hair's a little off, so I need to get it touched up.
27:14 Other than that, though,
27:16 it's just gonna be business as usual until I leave.
27:20 Gonna get some last minute bonding time in with my kitties
27:25 before I leave, and that's all she wrote.
27:30 [upbeat music]
27:34 Today, we're five days to go before the Met Gala,
27:38 so the fitting went very good,
27:41 but there's so many iterations to do, as you can see.
27:45 The idea is, of course, to cut a little bit from the hips
27:48 and refine more the whole silhouette.
27:52 So as you can see, it's a little part from the train
27:56 that is going to be made.
27:58 Here you have the little inlay of the laces
28:01 that will go on the train, so you give the volume.
28:05 And regarding the back,
28:12 there's a little iteration to be made,
28:14 the sizes to be redefined,
28:16 the stripes that goes on the back, more iterated.
28:21 [upbeat music]
28:24 We're in glam so early.
28:39 It's, what time is it?
28:40 - Almost one.
28:42 - It's almost one, but I have to get ready really early
28:47 because I do the interviews,
28:48 so I'm one of the first people on the carpet.
28:50 So we're getting ready nice and early.
28:53 I definitely feel a little freaked out.
28:57 Like I'm starting to get that pit in my stomach.
29:00 Now I'm nervous, and it happens every year.
29:05 But it happens closer to the moment every year
29:09 where I start to get nervous.
29:11 So yeah, I'm feeling nervous,
29:14 but it's all gonna be okay.
29:19 The look is amazing,
29:21 and we're just having a relaxing glam session.
29:26 That's all it is.
29:28 Everything's gonna be fine.
29:30 You relax, everything's gonna be fine.
29:33 You're the one freaking out, and you're freaking me out.
29:36 So, but no, I'm freaking out.
29:39 It's fine.
29:40 [upbeat music]
29:49 - I got it.
29:50 - You fucking did it.
29:51 I'm so happy.
29:56 - We were thinking this is gonna be distracting for her.
29:59 Is there a way to--
30:00 - Like tack it down.
30:02 - Or make it not--
30:03 - Having it like someone's--
30:05 - Yeah, let's do it.
30:07 - Yeah, just take deep breaths.
30:09 - Mm-hmm.
30:10 - Just deep breaths.
30:11 [hair dryer whirring]
30:12 Oh fuck, that's gonna poke me.
30:14 Oh, there's the--
30:15 [hair dryer whirring]
30:16 There we go.
30:17 [indistinct chatter]
30:20 Meditating.
30:26 Meditating and levitating.
30:30 - I think you need higher.
30:31 - Higher?
30:32 - Yeah, a little higher.
30:33 - Here it is.
30:37 What do you think?
30:39 It's unbelievable.
30:40 It's unbelievable.
30:41 I am so nervous now that I can't even talk properly,
30:43 and I'm like pacing around,
30:46 and I'm just like saying weird things,
30:48 and I'm just being weird,
30:49 but I'm overjoyed with the way that this turned out.
30:53 Like it's exactly what we dreamt of and even more.
30:56 And I'm just excited to get out there and go like this.
31:00 You know the drill.
31:03 Wish me luck, please, in spirit, in some way.
31:06 Thank you.
31:07 See, I'm saying weird shit 'cause I'm nervous.
31:09 Turn it off.
31:10 [upbeat music]
31:13 I love you so hard, but I can't.
31:15 I love you.
31:15 [upbeat music]
31:18 [upbeat music]
31:21 [upbeat music]
31:23 [upbeat music]
31:26 [upbeat music]
31:28 [upbeat music]
31:31 [upbeat music]
31:33 [upbeat music]
31:36 [upbeat music]
31:39 [upbeat music]
31:41 (upbeat music)
31:44 [BLANK_AUDIO]
