Napapalibutan ng mga anyong tubig pero walang malinis na suplay nito ang marami nating kababayan. Kabilang sa tinalakay na solusyon sa sectoral meeting kasama ang pangulo ang posibleng pagsala sa tubig-dagat.

00:00Your water is being surrounded but our countrymen have no clean supply of it.
00:05Despite the proposed solution in the sectoral meeting with the President,
00:09the possible leak in the sea water, that's what I'm aiming for.
00:17If whenever you need water, you get it from a well or a well,
00:21you're luckier than the 40 million Filipinos who, until now,
00:25don't have a formal water supply and rely on wells, ditches, and sewage.
00:31We have roughly around 7,600 plus islands,
00:35but not many people know that 5,500 of those are small islands.
00:41And many of these small islands do have communities, mostly fisherfolks,
00:46and each and every one of those do not have access to water.
00:50President Bongbong Marcos assigned them to the Water Resources Management Office
00:54under the DNR in Pulong, Malacanang earlier.
00:57Because many of those communities are in small islands
01:00like Samora Autonomous Region in Muslim in the Now or BARMM,
01:04desalination or the process of filtering salt water to make it a clean drinking water
01:09is the immediate solution.
01:12Modular or small desalination systems are planned to be brought
01:16to the 65-island barangays that were prioritized.
01:19Currently, the DNR is talking to suppliers from Israel, Netherlands, or Singapore for this.
01:25We have what are called as modular desalination systems.
01:30It's as big as a container van.
01:32It can provide water to up to around 500 families in each and every desalination plant.
01:43It depends on how many people will be serviced but roughly 5 to 8 million pesos per plant.
01:50For the upcoming rainy season,
01:52the Department of Public Works and Highways in Pulong
01:56presented their plans to meet the needs of the local government.
02:00The President agreed to collect excess water and use it during the dry season.
02:07In many of the flood control projects that we'll be implementing,
02:11we will have to coordinate with the National Irrigation Administration
02:14or the Water Supply for structures or water impounding dumps to be specific
02:25that will be integrated into the flood control programs that the department will be undertaking.
