00:06 abuse of power he faces in connection with the Jannah Wibawah programme, the Court of

00:11 Appeal set in written grounds released last week.

00:14 Justice Hadaria Saeed Ismail said the charges had listed all necessary ingredients to establish

00:20 an offence under Section 23(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.

00:26 On February 28, a three-member appeals court bench led by Hadaria allowed the prosecution's

00:32 appeal and reinstated the charges previously struck down by the High Court.

00:38 Muhyiddin was charged with abusing his power as Prime Minister between February 8 and August

00:42 20, 2021, in connection with the Jannah Wibawah programme by seeking to obtain RM232.5 million

00:50 for his associate, Resatu.

00:52 In the judgment, Hadaria said the particulars contained in each of the four charges were

00:57 sufficient to give Muhyiddin notice of the matter with which he was charged, adding that

01:02 he had no basis to claim that he was misled by a lack of particulars.

01:07 As such, there was no necessity for the prosecution to give further particulars as to how the

01:12 offence was committed, the judge said.
