The mutual exchange digital platform by the Ministry of Health is expected to be implemented in the third or fourth quarter of this year, according to its minister, Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said this platform allows health workers within the same scheme to exchange their placements without the need for intervention from the Human Resources Division to reduce burnout among overworked staff.

00:00Today, Code Blue has released that KKM plans to create a platform for mutual exchange, can you tell us a bit about it?
00:11Yes, Code Blue can mention that and we are honestly one of the ways for me to deal with the issue of human resources
00:24and this is a new thing, we are discussing it with Hangat, hopefully we can create a platform for mutual exchange
00:39of course it has to be like-to-like, doctors to doctors, not only doctors but also specialists, or even nurses
00:50so yes, we really want this thing to be given, because this is for the welfare of our healthcare workers
00:59we are looking to this seriously, and hopefully in the third quarter, fourth quarter, third quarter we should be able
01:10I hope so, I don't promise but we will try in the deadline
01:15In the meeting, he mentioned that the Deputy Secretary of Finance, Nur Azman Ayub said that the launch is scheduled for 1st of June
01:23can we reach 1st of June or not?
01:26If we want to set the deadline, we have to work hard for that, if we fail, I think we also need to be given
01:34the question is, if that thing is under our control, so the challenge is on us, the onus is on us to deliver
01:43this is not a new thing, we are discussing it, ever since I came back, we have been discussing it
01:51so it's just a question of how to have a system that can implement this so well
01:56and it can be self-regulating, and we are just taking in terms of administrative matters at the end
02:07so they can do their exchanges and discussions in the platform
02:13In your opinion, is there a way to solve the burn-out problem when it is placed far away from home?
02:20It will have to be a multi-pronged approach, and it's not just this system, but it's a multi-pronged approach
02:37so among other things we have to pay attention to, is there an acute shortage? Is there a maldistribution?
02:45Do we have to fix the distribution? What are the metrics that the doctor should be giving?
02:58What setting? All those are different settings, and also different needs and demands
03:04So we will be looking at all this, and we will also be having our retreat
03:12Inshallah, within this year we will certainly, but I don't promise when, but we are already there
