00:00To have this result, I want to thank them all very, very much indeed.
00:05I want to thank the huge army of Labour activists that have been working with me and for me
00:12from Corby to Brackley for months and months and months.
00:15We've been door knocking, talking to as many people as we possibly can
00:19because we've all really, really wanted to understand how people are thinking,
00:25how they're feeling, what they want from this office.
00:29And it is something I will continue to do.
00:32I will continue to do that door knocking with the parliamentary candidates for Labour
00:37because to make my job successful, we need a Labour government to support me.
00:43And I will be out on those floors helping to make sure that that happens.
00:49Above all, I want to go into that office on the 9th of May
00:55ready to create the changes that the people have voted for.
00:59People have voted for change and we really badly need it.
01:03We need an office that is close and accessible to the people,
01:08that is responsive to the people, that represents all our diverse communities
01:14in the development of a policing plan and a plan for the fire service.
01:19We need to make sure that the people who work in those services
01:23are properly looked after, that their morale is lifted
01:27because we have got opportunities for transformation and change
01:31that the people really want.
01:33I'm so proud to be given this privilege, I cannot tell you.
01:37It hasn't happened by magic, it's happened by hard work
01:41and by really deep listening to what the people really want.
01:45And I am absolutely proud as punishment to be here.
01:48Thank you very much.
