00:08 The Bristol Harbour Festival is one of the biggest events of the year, showcasing some of the best parts of the city all in one place, the Bristol Harbourside.
00:20 So Bristol Harbour Festival this year will take place from Friday the 19th of July to Sunday the 21st of July.
00:29 And we've been working behind the scenes to create the programme, reach out to all different partners that want to get involved.
00:36 The Bristol Harbour Festival pays tribute to Bristol's rich nautical history and this Harbour Festival is set to be no different.
00:45 Let's find out from the Harbour Festival team why this year's Harbour Festival is going to be so iconic.
00:52 It's a huge festival in Bristol celebrating Bristol as a whole and also the harbour itself.
00:58 We've got lots of different venues including On The Water, which is taking place right here.
01:03 We've got cardboard boat races, model boat races, flyboarding, dragon boat demonstration.
01:09 Bristol Harbour Festival is I believe still the three largest festival to attend for Bristol residents and people outside of Bristol.
01:17 It's also got sort of a long history to it.
01:21 So obviously it's been going on for over 50 years and how it came about I think is why it has got such a close...
01:31 It's very close to people's hearts.
01:33 The history behind it, the heritage and the traditions of it.
01:36 People fought for it so it's definitely got quite a strong passion amongst people that come along to it.
01:43 This year's Harbour Festival will still include the iconic cardboard boat racing,
01:49 which will literally be here behind me in two months,
01:53 as well as a plethora of different food and locally sourced drinks.
01:58 We've also got the amphitheatre, which is literally just over there behind us.
02:03 And that is our main music stage, the Harbour View stage, which is opening from the Friday night.
02:08 And we are partnering with music programmers such as Global Local and Greenpeace as well
02:14 to bring a real variety of national and international artists as well as local artists as well.
02:20 This year's Bristol Harbour Festival will showcase the best of the harbour with a bit of homage to the past,
02:27 but also a bit of fresh perspective on the future.
02:30 So we'll be expecting a lot of different performance areas across the harbour,
02:35 with obviously a big emphasis on the water activities.
