00:00So, this year is the 10th anniversary of Wingfest. I started it in 2014 in a pub car park with 300 people.
00:10At the time I had a chicken wing stall and I used to get the chicken from my family farm in Norfolk.
00:15And I started the festival, the idea came from wing fests in the States.
00:21They have small ones in every town, every county it seems.
00:24And I thought if I brought this to the UK, this would be a great way of promoting the chicken wing stall.
00:29However, the first year sold out, 300 people, so I thought this was a great idea.
00:33It was just 7 traders in a car park serving chicken wings.
00:37Did it again the next year, did 1,000 people, put on a bit of music as well, eating competitions.
00:43The next year I did 2,000 people, added in a bit more content, a few more games, a few more bands.
00:48And before I know it, fast forward 10 years, it's my full-time business.
00:53We do 40,000 people around the country, 6 different events.
00:57And the largest festival, the original festival, London Wing Fest, which has just been in July,
01:02is now at the London Stadium and is 20,000 people over 3 days.
01:06We get through about half a million wings.
01:08There's 50 street food traders, restaurants, barbecue teams peddling their wares.
01:13We've got music stages, we've got axe throwing, fairground rides, we've got food demo stages,
01:18we've got drinking games, we've got bourbon demos.
01:21It really is now a huge festival.
01:25Gosh, that sounds so exciting.
01:27And it's coming to Bristol.
01:29Tell me about the Bristol event.
01:32So the idea is that we're showcasing the best chicken wings in the area.
01:36So we bring it to Bristol to, one, highlight what great chicken wing traders you've got in Bristol.
01:43But we also bring some of the traders from other parts of the country so that, again,
01:47the people of Bristol can experience wings that they might not have been able to experience
01:50or they wouldn't have been able to visit just in Bristol.
01:53So we've got 15 wing slingers from around the country.
