00:03 the latest incident of harassment by China
00:07 against Philippine ships in the West Philippine Sea.
00:10 This was after the Chinese Coast Guard re-watered the ships
00:14 of the Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, or BFAR,
00:21 which would have been carrying humanitarian assistance
00:24 for fishermen in the Bayou de Masinlouc.
00:27 According to the task force, WPS, this incident shows
00:32 the intention of China to stop the Philippine's humanitarian mission.
00:37 The task force added that the members of foreign and local media
00:43 who are often part of the BFAR's regular assistance mission
00:49 for fishermen in the West Philippine Sea and other seas of the Philippines
00:54 were initially suspected of being part of the BFAR.
00:58 The ship was damaged by the strong pressure of the Chinese Coast Guard vessel's e-water cannon
01:05 while the BFAR's BRP Bangkaw was damaged,
01:09 including its heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems,
01:14 electrical navigation and radio systems.
01:18 The NTF-WPS said that the Philippines is continuing to move in a peaceful and responsible action
01:26 that is based on rules-based international law
01:29 in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, or UNCLOS,
01:34 and the 2016 Arbitral Award.
01:37 Despite this, the government assured that the Philippines will not be affected
01:42 by the activities that are being carried out in the country and in our seas.
