00:36 According to him, he started collecting stamps during the pandemic.
00:41 During the pandemic, a lot of things happened, you got a lot of stress.
00:45 And I saw this as an opportunity to de-stress, to relax.
00:50 Because of these stamps, I was able to travel to even countries I cannot imagine.
00:56 So you get to learn their story, their history.
00:59 And it's like you've been there through the stamps that I've collected.
01:03 De Leon also held the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of stamps featuring scouts, which was sold out in October.
01:11 We want to promote the art of philately, especially to young people.
01:16 We can learn a lot from the art of philately.
01:20 You won't just enjoy it, you won't just be impressed by the prints.
01:24 But you will learn so many things.
01:26 Because of the rise of modernization, PhilPOOFs encouraged young people to still write letters and collect stamps.
01:35 It's just a matter of time that the younger generation will take a look at the stamps also.
01:41 So it's up to us also from the POOFs to give back the needs of the children.
01:48 Along with him is the stamp collector, Anne, who attended the opening ceremony of the stamp exhibition.
01:53 She was just a kid when she started collecting different stamps.
01:58 I feel happy because they are colorful, and artworks, and small like miniature.
02:06 It's really a relaxing activity.
02:09 Stamp collecting is for everyone and it gives us happiness.
02:13 She said her love for collecting grew even more during the pandemic.
02:17 This opened the doors for me to build my collection and I have friends who swap, sell, we exchange stamps.
02:28 So there, it's increasing.
