00:00And I think, Richard, the point that you make is probably something that gets lost a little
00:06bit because certainly the focal point of the Derby is always the horse, you know, and beyond
00:13that, it's the trainers, but very little do jockeys get discussed because when their careers
00:18are over, you sort of wonder what are they doing next?
00:21And so I wouldn't mind kind of getting into that here, Richard, just to talk about how
00:25important it is, because I mean, these jockeys could fall off a horse, they could get injured
00:29and certainly when they're, as you mentioned, when their careers are over, what do they
00:32do next? So the charitable effort that's going behind this is certainly going to be
00:36able to help that as well.
00:38Absolutely. You know, there are jockeys at some circuits who come in, you know, these
00:43gentlemen come into the country, ladies and gentlemen come into the country.
00:47They have not a lot of people to take care of them.
00:51They're looking to catch a break and they're looking to excel at their sport and they're
00:57looking to make a living.
00:58And sometimes they do get injured on the racetrack.
01:01And unfortunately, some of those injuries are debilitating.
01:05You know, there are unfortunately paralyzations happen or other injuries that prevent them
01:10from ever racing again.
01:12So they permanently disabled jockey fund.
01:14It's been doing that for a lot of years, taking care of those jockeys and making sure that
01:19they have some kind of safety net to take care of them.
01:23And as participants in our industry, we have to support them because they're part of the
01:27game. They're part of what keeps everything going.
01:30So we want to make sure that in every way possible that we can, that we see these guys
01:36through and make sure that they're OK.
