00:00It's closing weekend at Saratoga, and we've got the Pacific Classic at Del Mar.
00:07So let's get out to Saratoga, see if we can get you a few winners for closing weekend.
00:11I have two of them that are going to come in races 11 and 12, Mike, and what's really
00:16cool about DRF.com and some of the articles we have here, it's like if you're doing your
00:21research for football season coming up and you're reading different blogs or you're reading
00:25some of the folks who are there and the beat writers, Dave Grenning from DRF told us that
00:30Mark Cassie, the trainer, was going to bring some of his really good two-year-olds to Saratoga
00:34this year, and he did.
00:36Mark Cassie's had an awesome meeting.
00:38One of those horses is Salted, and Salted's going to be in the spinway.
00:41Salted is still a maiden, actually, but he should have won his last race.
00:45He stumbled badly at the start, completely missed the break.
00:49He was like 10 lengths out of it.
00:50He closed really well to finish second.
00:53If he just gets a better start, Mike, I think he's going to be in the mix, and one more
00:57at Saratoga on Saturday, we've got Nietzsche-Marie in race number 12.
01:01This is one of the big races on the card.
01:03This is the Flower Bowl, and Nietzsche-Marie is a horse who, like we've seen, we see with
01:08younger athletes, you just improve so much from that first or second year to when you
01:14have a little bit more experience.
01:16You know what to expect.
01:17From last year to this year, Nietzsche-Marie looks like a completely different horse, running
01:21way faster speed figures.
01:23I think fits really well in there.
01:24So those are my two out at Saratoga.
01:27So, Gino, let me throw this in really fast because you just said it's the last weekend
01:31at Saratoga. So that means because they're redoing Belmont, they'll now go back to
01:35Aqueduct until next June, like they'll go now race at Aqueduct for that long because
01:41Belmont's finished. They're ripping the place apart and getting it rebuilt to then, I
01:46guess, make Belmont all-weather and then they'll tear Aqueduct down and get rid of that.
01:51I think that's the plans down the road.
01:53We're in a merry-go-round right now.
01:54Somebody needs to put a quarter in, but after Monday, when they close, Monday is closing
02:00day, so they do race on Labor Day and then they'll go back to Aqueduct for quite some
02:04time and we'll run the Belmont stakes like we did at Saratoga again next year as they
02:09keep renovating Belmont Park and they're going to make that bigger and better.
