00:00Welcome to Mediantv, Tangier is home to the 2 to 5th of May and for the first time on
00:19African soil, the festival entitled Between the two of us, and which will take place
00:26at the Moulay Eiffel Palace and in other places in the city of Detroit.
00:31This great event, with 65 participants and nearly 700 festivalgoers, is organized by
00:37the Think Tank House of Beautiful Businesses, and to talk about it, of course, about the
00:43festival Between the two of us, I have the pleasure of having with me and on the set
00:48of Mediantv, Hanna Abzad, festival commissioner, Hanna Abzad, thank you very much for accepting
00:53our invitation.
00:54Thank you.
00:55I know it's the right line, it's the right line, how does it work, is it preparatory
01:01and how, first of all, my first question, how did the choice of Tangier come to organize
01:06your world congress of the Think Tank?
01:08So, in fact, this is the inaugural edition on the African continent of the annual festival
01:15of the flagship meeting of the House of Beautiful Businesses, which until now has taken place
01:19in Lisbon and Sintra in Portugal.
01:23For a few years now, we have been discussing with the co-founders of the House of Beautiful
01:26Businesses, who have a great interest in Morocco, and the city of Tangier, which is the city
01:32with the confluence of worlds and cultures par excellence, has been chosen to be the
01:37host of this great meeting this year, so we are a few days away from this beautiful
01:43edition that is being prepared actively.
01:46In any case, Tangier, let's celebrate this week between the International Festival Day
01:50and of course your great event, in any case, Tangier has a lot of luck.
01:55So, I would just like us to get a little closer to the public and our viewers, the concept
02:01of the festival Between the Two of Us, it's festivals, it's conferences, it's several
02:07places.
02:08Can you bring us a little closer to this concept?
02:11Between the Two of Us, or between us, or Binetna, is a multidisciplinary festival that brings
02:18all disciplines, from philosophy to the arts, to the business world, to the philosophy of
02:26activism.
02:27We are going to invite 65 speakers, we are waiting for nearly 700 festivals, who have
02:34a particular interest in this mission of House of Beautiful Businesses, to put the beautiful
02:39at the center of business.
02:40For a few years now, House of Beautiful Businesses has presented itself as a platform of excellence
02:44to reflect, conceptualize and put into action a living-centered economy.
02:50In this context, we have nearly nine main conferences that will take place at the Moulay
02:56el-Fid palace, also a closing ceremony at the Cape of Sparta and a number of satellite
03:01events.
03:02The challenge for us is really to inspire, to encourage, to ensure that this global community
03:08can marry the challenges of the countries of the South as well.
03:13So we are planning nine main sessions, about twenty workshops and a number of surprises
03:24that we are not going to tell you about.
03:28To go into a little more detail, when we talk about the beautiful, generally in the concept
03:34of the citizen, the beautiful is in relation to art, but it can also be related to culture,
03:44industry, technology, you who are in it, can you bring us a little closer to the themes
03:51that will be addressed during this session and this festival here in Tangier?
03:58To tell you the truth, beauty or aesthetics is really a space that brings us together.
04:03It allows us to exchange from equal to equal, whether we are business leaders, whether we
04:11are political decision-makers or whether we are in positions that are not necessarily
04:16leadership positions.
04:17The idea is really to bring us together.
04:19The theme between the two of us is that of relationality, so we see this festival as
04:25a poetic junction point that allows us to reflect on the staff in politics, on the politics
04:33in the staff and how it translates into business decisions.
04:37So we have given a beautiful place to a number of very current themes, for example artificial
04:42intelligence and its impact on our decision-making, but also the theories of growth and degrowth,
04:51how we go from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy, how we shape capitalism
04:58to make a transition that honors the living, so to get out of capitalism as we know it,
05:05the north-south relations of course, and the voices, we bring to this festival some of the
05:12most audacious voices that are sometimes not fully heard.
05:16So among these sessions, we will have a session called Carrefour Crossroads, a session called
05:23Unheard, which will allow us to exchange with a great American political scientist,
05:29Anand Giridharas, but also a Ghanaian activist who is also a technologist named Farida Bedouin.
05:38We have a number of great Moroccan guests who will talk to us about football and what
05:45moves us and moves us, Hicham Lamrani, Zineb Rechich, who is also Moroccan and the first
05:51Arab woman FIFA agent. We have themes that are also very current in relation to the context
06:00of the debate in Morocco on Moudawana, a session called Feminism, with leaders
06:07on the European and Moroccan sides, who will talk to us about the emergence of several
06:17forms of feminism. To tell the truth, we see this festival as a response or a proposal
06:22of response to a world that is going through a poly-crisis and we wish to address it with
06:27poly-opportunities. So I would also like to clarify that the festival, the language used
06:34is exclusively English. Is it just to give some information, are there going to be
06:40translations, interpreters or how are these sessions going to unfold? All the sessions
06:46will be documented, we will be able to give access to these sessions in French and in Arabic
06:51afterwards. Indeed, the language that has been chosen for the exchanges is English.
06:57So, Hanab Zed, Commissioner of the Festival Between the Two of Us,
07:02between us and Binet, I like it a lot, in Arabic the word is really very, very significant.
07:07Can you bring us a little closer to the TikTok presented to us? It is true that we are talking
07:11about the festival, but the TikTok, can you tell us, talk to us about House of Beautiful Business?
07:17House of Beautiful Business is a global network, indeed a TikTok, whose mission is to put
07:24the beautiful in the heart of the business world. It is a rather romantic approach of the business
07:30world, if we can say so. For a few years now, the central theme, or the proposal
07:35really of House of Beautiful Business is to be this exchange platform that connects
07:41nearly 50,000 professionals and experts around the world on the economy centred on the living.
07:48So when we say the economy centred on the living, it means an economy that takes into account
07:51all forms of intelligence, from nature, elements, to artificial intelligence.
07:56So from there, House of Beautiful Business offers this annual event, but also publications,
08:03other meetings. We work with a number of corporate partners to support them
08:10on the emergence of new ideas and the implementation of these new ideas through
08:15this rather creative and artistic approach. Hanab Zed, thank you very much for accepting
08:20our invitation. And I would like to remind you that you are the festival's commissioner
08:24between the two of us, which takes place from May 2nd to 5th at the Palais des Institutions
08:33Italiennes, the Palais Montlhéry. Thank you very much. Thank you. And thank you,
08:38dear viewers, for your loyalty. Stay with us. The information continues on our
08:43various channels, Median TV Arabic, Median TV Maghreb, Median TV Afrique, and of course,
08:48on our digital media, medianews.com.
