00:00When it comes to offensive tackles in this year's 2020 NFL Draft class, Andrew Thomas
00:06is certainly in the top three, but is he the number one tackle prospect?
00:10And if so, is he getting picked in the top 10?
00:13For that analysis, I turn to Frank today, our fantasy and gambling insider, and also
00:17Brooks Austin, who covers the Bulldogs for Sports Illustrated.
00:20Frank, I'll start with you.
00:22What are the bookmakers saying about where Thomas will go?
00:26Yeah, right now the oddsmakers have his overall draft position set at 11.5, juiced moderately
00:31to the under at minus $1.30.
00:34For me, Bill, this is a really tough market.
00:36Obviously, we know there's four outstanding tackles in this particular draft, and I don't
00:41know exactly who's going to go where.
00:43I mean, there's different rumblings as we're getting closer, which Brooks will be highlighting.
00:47I mean, but for me right now, this seems to be a market that's a stay away from me.
00:52I mean, I would tend to lean towards the over, but just because I thought that he was the,
00:58for my projections, I thought he would be the fourth offensive tackle among all of them
01:02to go off the board.
01:03But it seems like we're getting some strong reports now that he may be the first tackle
01:07among all of the prospects to come off the board.
01:09So for me, Bill, at this number, eight and a half, this is a complete stay away.
01:13I think there's other better markets that betters can invest in.
01:16Brooks, you've been covering Thomas throughout his college career at Georgia.
01:21What are you hearing about the teams expressing interest in him, and where do you think he'll
01:25get picked?
01:26Yeah.
01:27So if you go back all the way to prior to the SEC championship game, Ed Orgeron spoke
01:31about Andrew Thomas, and he said all the NFL scouts he talked to said Thomas would be a
01:35top five overall pick.
01:37And he played exceptionally well in that SEC championship game, holding down Clayvon Chasson.
01:41And then since then, he's fallen out of all these mock drafts into the 10, the 15 range,
01:47and he hasn't played a game since then.
01:49So it's been kind of a question as to what's been going on.
01:52A lot had a lot of that had to do with the combine and the spin that came out of it certainly
01:55was overperformed or outperformed rather by the other three tackles, including Makai Becton
02:00out of Louisville.
02:01So you kind of saw that in the draft projections in the mock drafts.
02:05And now here we are just less than a week away or a little over a week away in the NFL
02:09draft.
02:10And it seems like the NFL scouting world's finally coming back to the tape and the performance
02:14of Thomas over the last three years.
02:15Look, NFL scouts haven't been able to see these guys in person.
02:19So they're having to, you know, rely back on the tape and the tapes exceptional from
02:22Andrew Thomas looking forward to seeing where this big boy from Georgia gets drafted.
02:27The NFL draft will kick off on April 23rd.
02:30Brooks Frank, thanks for your time.
