00:00 Okay, I think you guys saw in practice today we had our first big situation of
00:04 football where coaches were off the field, we had a little move the ball, a
00:07 little red zone activity, so that was good. I think it's always you know at
00:11 this time when you get three or four practices in just so the coaches to get
00:14 out the field, see how they operate with no coaching taking place on the field
00:19 is always good, especially for those younger players. So you know I think it's
00:22 one of those things where you go back and forth, we're seeing some young guys
00:25 make some plays, our older guys seem to be, you know the recall has been pretty
00:29 good, so we just got to keep adding to it.
00:33 What's that? He's doing a good job, he's doing a good job. We're rotating him at
00:38 some different positions at the linebacker spot just to get him a feel,
00:42 so he'll rotate based on the day. You know we're trying to give him the more
00:47 that he can do, you know that mentality, give him more options to get on the
00:51 field. He's been doing a good job. You see him back here today in practice, he
00:58 made a couple good plays and then you know one that he's got to learn from. You
01:01 know it's like back and forth but more good than bad, so I think it's a whole
01:05 new system compared to what he had in college, whole new position. So there's
01:09 some growing pains right there but the progress he's making at this point, we're
01:13 pretty pleased. He made a great play yesterday, great play that showed that
01:23 ball hocking. You know one of the things we asked from that free safety position
01:27 is ability to have a lot of range, cover a lot of ground but also to make that
01:31 tackle. That's I think we also need to see his angles and approach. He had a
01:35 couple today that he can work on but I think when we get into the scrimmage
01:39 situation too, we get more you know against the Rams, you get a chance to
01:42 check that out but definitely has the space to cover from red line to red
01:47 line. Yeah, Rayshon you know has been here for a couple years so he
01:55 understands the position and you know he's coming to playing with a lot of
01:58 confidence. I think it helped him at the end of the year where he played a couple
02:01 games at that position so that's kind of carried over so you know be a competition
02:06 throughout. He has. You can see you know there's players that when they're out
02:18 there they're thinking quite a bit so you can't tell really just how fast are
02:22 they or are they thinking quite a bit but I've seen him like yesterday the play I
02:26 was talking about where you saw him not thinking just play and his athleticism.
02:29 So that's on us as coaches to continue to help him learn so he gets to that
02:33 point. Well I thought Melvin Ingram, I mean we had the first play a team run
02:41 and did a really good job kind of set the tone for the defense and you know he
02:46 had a good day today I thought so. Our rush you know is improving I think
02:51 to have Joey and Melvin back in there and then some rush with JJ in there so
02:54 you know that continues to be something that we're evaluating closely but you
02:58 know I thought he had a particularly good day. You know what here he had such
03:04 a good year for us last year you know to come in and you never got it you know we
03:09 talk about in our meetings and his approach to the game how he attacks it
03:13 it's just like he's a rookie again he just absorbs all the information and he
03:17 really wants to be good now really wants to be good so you know we'll continue to
03:21 try to do some different things with him and utilize his skill set.
03:26 He's out there in practice now doing some stuff with gifts so you know he's
03:32 doing good when I talk to him you know he seems to be coming along really good
03:35 so we'll just progress him as they tell us. Yeah I don't I really it's kind of
03:42 day-to-day when they tell me you know and then we just operate based on that
03:45 but you know hopefully they keep telling me keep pushing them.
03:51 Yeah, Rayshon was a guy that was the played you know we didn't really know
03:56 what to do as far as position wise with him he played strong safety when we
03:59 first draft him then we you know and then he was about 215 or so then we
04:03 thought well maybe he's our dime linebacker you know maybe then he got up
04:07 to like 2.8 should we get him up to 220 you know and then at the end of the
04:10 season he played free safety he's a little heavy but now we locked him in
04:13 the free safety now his weight is right around 200 so I think it's been good for
04:17 him that transition he's kind of locked into all right here's my position here's
04:21 where I'm competing for and he's truly changed his body in a good way and his
04:25 explosiveness and things so that's just that's required out of that position so
04:29 give him credit on that.
04:32 He really is you know I think his feel for the game brings out even more
04:41 athleticism you know his ability to key the quarterback make plays but he's
04:45 really a physical he's a strong safety mentality so he has that physical nature
04:49 that we're looking for as that middle field safety and then he does have the
04:53 speed you know he's got good instincts back there so you know we're optimistic
04:57 on his growth so far.
