00:00 We're all about to get a good look at Roger Goodell's basement.
00:03 For more on how the NFL draft will work, I'm joined by the MMQB's Albert Breer.
00:08 Albert, we know it'll be remote, we know it'll be virtual.
00:11 How are they going to make it work technology-wise?
00:12 Yeah, I mean, there's going to be a lot of things that they're going to have to work
00:16 through.
00:17 They're going to do a mock draft next week, actually, with 32 teams, just to make sure
00:21 that everything's in working order.
00:23 They're going to mock picks, they're going to mock trades.
00:26 Basically the way this thing's going to be set up, it's going to be hubbed in two places.
00:30 One, like you said, Roger Goodell's basement in Westchester County, New York.
00:34 And then the other hub is going to be in Bristol, Connecticut, where the broadcast is going
00:39 to emanate from.
00:40 And so it's going to be a very different looking draft, of course.
00:43 And then for each of the 32 teams, there's going to be a direct line into this.
00:47 And so every team is going to have to designate one decision maker.
00:51 That decision maker is going to be allowed to have an IT person on hand.
00:56 Nobody else can do that.
00:57 Just the one decision maker has an IT person on hand who can help them if they do have
01:01 technical difficulties.
01:03 Then teams are going to have to designate three decision making level people.
01:08 Now this could be your head coach, your GM, your director of player personnel.
01:11 And all three of those guys are going to be patched in to a Microsoft Teams meeting, which
01:17 is going to have all 32 teams on it, and the commissioner as well.
01:21 Teams will make their picks through that.
01:22 That will be backed up by a conference call, which the decision makers can patch themselves
01:27 into as well.
01:28 And so they're trying to create bail saves here so it works for everybody.
01:32 But clearly, they're on a little bit of untreaded ground here, and everybody's trying to make
01:38 it work as best they can.
01:39 And so certainly I think it's going to be interesting for each of these teams when they
01:43 go through the mock draft next week as they try to take a dry run at this.
01:47 Now the broadcast isn't going to let us see that call with all the teams on it?
01:51 No.
01:52 No.
01:53 No.
01:54 I do not think that will-- you know what?
01:55 You know what would be great, Robin, just to make light of all of this?
01:57 Maybe they can give us a worst of or a bloopers reel or something like that as part of the
02:02 broadcast.
02:03 I would absolutely be in favor of that.
02:05 In fact, once we get off of this, I'll tweet something.
02:07 Maybe we can get that going.
02:08 Yeah, but somebody else other than Roger Goodell should probably host that one.
02:12 Albert, I appreciate your time.
02:14 I'll nominate my buddy Rich Eisen.
02:16 Let's get Rich Eisen there to host the bloopers.
02:19 There you go.
02:20 He's a good pick.
02:21 He's a good pick.
02:22 He's a good pick.
02:23 He's a good pick.
