00:00 Colin Kaepernick took his last NFL snap back in 2016, but the buzz is heating up for a
00:06 team to sign the polarizing quarterback.
00:09 Here with me to break down the odds of what team might sign him is SI Gambling Analyst
00:14 Frank Tadeo.
00:15 Frank, who's the favorite to sign Kaepernick right now?
00:18 Yeah, Bill, we actually see over at one sports pick in particular, BetOnline, there's odds
00:24 for several different teams for him to actually land in 2020.
00:29 And right now the Baltimore Ravens at odds of 225 are there the betting favorites according
00:34 to the, to that, uh, those sports book odds makers with the Seattle Seahawks coming in
00:39 at plus 275 followed by the Jacksonville Jaguars at three to one, the Houston Texans at four
00:45 to one, and also the Los Angeles charges coming in on the top five in the betting board.
00:51 But Bill, for me, for my money, I actually would back two teams, one that's listed and
00:54 one that's not for the one that has actually a betting price.
00:58 I would suggest the Seattle Seahawks at odds of plus 225.
01:00 I can totally see the argument of Kaepernick being an upgrade over current Seattle backup
01:06 Gino Smith.
01:08 Another club that makes sense to me that's not currently being offered by BetOnline is
01:12 the Pittsburgh Steelers.
01:14 Ben Roethlisberger is coming off a serious elbow injury and is now he's getting up there,
01:18 Bill, as we know at age 38.
01:20 Secondly, a case could be made that Kaepernick is an upgrade over Mason Rudolph.
01:25 It's an interesting market, Bill, to say the least.
01:27 But for me as a sports bettor, I'm not really willing to invest in this market because I
01:31 do not see a clear advantage on any team over the other.
01:35 And I really need to have an opportunity to have an edge over the sports book number.
01:39 For me, I really don't see one in this market, but it is an interesting market to say the
01:43 least.
01:44 Frank, you brought up the Seattle Seahawks.
01:46 They were actually the last team to host Kaepernick for a workout.
01:50 Pete Carroll had good things to say, but they just at the time he says they weren't in the
01:54 market to sign a quarterback.
01:56 But you mentioned the Ravens being one of the favorites.
01:58 I think that makes the most sense.
02:00 You look at what Lamar Jackson and Colin Kaepernick have in terms of their similarities.
02:05 We know Robert Griffin III also has those similarities.
02:07 But if the Ravens continue, want to continue to allow Jackson to use his rushing ability,
02:14 it does increase the risk of injury.
02:16 And having another quarterback that possesses those same athletic skills and that same rushing
02:21 ability in Kaepernick, just like RGIII has, would make a lot of sense for Baltimore because
02:26 we know they are a team primed to take it to the next level in terms of their playoff
02:31 success.
02:32 Frank, great reporting as always.
02:35 We'll keep an eye on this prop bet for sure and see if it comes through.
02:38 Thank you.
