00:00The NFL season is moving right along, that means the fantasy football season is also
00:05moving right along.
00:06Joining me to discuss some fantasy football is S.I.'s senior fantasy analyst, Dr. Roto,
00:10with his week three prescription notes, and our Chargers insider, Fernando Ramirez.
00:16Doc, I was lucky enough to have Austin Ecklund in my backfield in my roster yesterday, so
00:21I felt pretty good about that, but a lot of people were looking for a breakout game from
00:25Josh Kelly yesterday.
00:26It did not happen.
00:28That's true, Exec, and if you were on DraftKings and you were playing some DFS, you probably
00:32thought Kelly was a great start considering the Carolina run defense is one of the worst
00:36in all of the NFL.
00:38But what happened was the Chargers fell behind, and when they fall behind, it's an Austin
00:41Ecklund love fest out there, right?
00:43And now in Josh Kelly, he got carries, but he's not getting the goal line carries.
00:48So I think it's all about game flow.
00:51When the Chargers are ahead, you're going to see Josh Kelly play, you're going to see
00:54Ecklund involved, but when they're behind, it's Austin Ecklund.
00:59So it's a week-to-week basis, and never confuse the result with the decision.
01:03If you played Kelly, you did the right thing, you just had the wrong result.
01:07Fernando, us fantasy guys, we love our young rookie running backs.
01:11What do you think of this backfield and how it shakes out the rest of the season?
01:14You know what?
01:15The Chargers are very dependent on that backfield.
01:17Anthony Lynn wants to run the ball.
01:19The first two games in the season, they ran the ball 57% of the time and only threw 43.
01:24Yesterday, what kind of what kind of screwed with the Chargers was the the fumble by Josh
01:29Kelly and the two turnovers by Justin Herbert.
01:32So that really disrupted the game flow.
01:34And in the second half, they had to throw the football.
01:37And when you throw the football, who do you want out there?
01:39You want Austin Eckler because he's very shifty, very elusive.
01:43So that's what they wanted.
01:45So so it was disappointing to see that Josh Kelly didn't get as many carries.
01:50But I'm sure moving forward, the Chargers are going to try and go back to that 57, 43
01:58percent of the running and passing, especially because that's what Anthony Lynn wants.
02:03He wants to control the game with the run game.
02:06And yesterday, they just got out of their funk and they weren't able to to gain it back.
02:10So in the second half, they went passing.
02:12So but look for Anthony Lynn to to keep on running the rookie.
02:16He really likes him.
02:17He really likes the combination between him and Austin Eckler.
