HBO's Hard Knocks chose to follow both Los Angeles teams. It will be interesting to see how the Chargers are shown on the Emmy winning show.

00:00 Hi, I'm Eric Williams and I'm here with Fernando Ramirez. I cover the Rams for Sports Illustrated. Fernando covers the Chargers.
00:07 We're here to talk hard knocks with the season beginning. Both LA teams are going to be on hard knocks this year.
00:12 Fernando, what are a couple things you want to check out as far as the Chargers in the first season?
00:18 You know, Eric, I'm very interested to see the Tyrod Taylor era, the Justin Herbert era. No more Phillip Rivers.
00:25 So I kind of wish we could see a little bit of Phillip Rivers and the way he is with his teammates.
00:31 That would have been fun, especially with Chris Harris Jr. joining.
00:34 You know, Phillip and him would always talk back and forth. Seeing them, seeing some of the defensive guys like Melvin Ingram,
00:40 Derwin James, a little bit of that and seeing really how they integrate both
00:45 the Chargers and the Rams. Like are they gonna go half of the time Chargers, half of the time Rams?
00:50 That's gonna be very interesting. What are some of the things you want to see from the Rams?
00:55 Just to kind of go off what you said, Fernando,
00:57 I think the first thing I want to see is how they're gonna handle this COVID situation with all the safety restrictions and regulations.
01:03 What are the meetings gonna look like? What is practice gonna look like for both teams?
01:06 You know, handle that individually and then if they do get positive tests,
01:10 how do they deal with that kind of on a day-to-day basis and on a minute-to-minute basis? In terms of the team itself,
01:17 Jared Goff, you know, how are they gonna continue his maturation process?
01:22 If you remember, Goff was a rookie when they did the first hard knocks with the Rams and had trouble remembering which
01:27 direction the Sun set. So I'm hopefully he's grown from that.
01:31 I'm sure that he has. Obviously, he's had a lot of success over the last couple years.
01:35 So I'm interested to see that transition. New offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell and how those two interact.
01:42 And then defensively, Brandon Staley, new defense coordinator, how he interacts with Aaron Donald and Jaylon Ramsey and the
01:49 changes they're gonna make defensively moving on from Wade Phillips.
01:52 And then the last thing I think is Jaylon Ramsey's contract that you know, you will get it kind of an inside look,
01:57 I hope, in terms of the negotiations with GM Les Snead and
02:01 Jaylon's representation. So those are a couple things I'm going to be looking for in terms of the Rams.
02:06 Hey, you can follow us at Sports Illustrated. You can follow me on the Rams site.
02:10 You can follow Fernando on the Chargers site. Please check us out and we look forward to talking to you next week.
