the Chargers beat the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. This a recap of the game.

00:00 Hey, I'm Fernando Ramirez for Sports Illustrated.
00:01 I'm at SoFi Stadium, where the Los Angeles Chargers just
00:04 won their third game of the season against the New York
00:07 Jets.
00:08 Jets gave them all they could handle at points in this game.
00:12 Started off the game with a block punt on Chargers
00:15 punter Ty Long.
00:17 A little bit of deja vu from last week
00:19 from the Miami Dolphins game, where
00:21 they started off with a block punt on the Chargers
00:24 on Ty Long as well.
00:26 And the Jets capitalized, turned it into six points.
00:29 But then the Chargers offense got going,
00:31 thanks to the arm of Justin Herbert.
00:33 He has just, again, been incredible.
00:35 Over 300 yards today, three touchdown passes.
00:38 And at times, he was making the right reads.
00:42 He spread the ball around again.
00:45 He hit Keenan Allen 16 times for over 140 yards and a touchdown.
00:51 After the game, Keenan Allen was talking about his relationship
00:54 with Justin Herbert.
00:55 And he said that it just keeps on growing,
00:56 it keeps on developing, which is something
00:58 positive for this offense.
01:00 And Justin, after the game, said that he feels not only
01:03 his chemistry with Allen, but with Mike Williams
01:06 and with Hunter Henry is growing as well as the weeks go on.
01:09 Which is a positive thing to hear from your rookie
01:11 quarterback and from the receivers.
01:14 The Chargers, at times, today, had those same lapses
01:17 they've had throughout the whole season,
01:19 where they get a huge margin of victory,
01:23 or the huge margin on the other team,
01:26 and the other team starts coming back.
01:28 The Jets were able to do that today.
01:29 The Chargers held an 18-point lead.
01:33 And the Jets slowly but surely started chipping away at that.
01:36 They got it to within eight points.
01:39 After the game, Keenan Allen said that, at times,
01:41 he kind of was thinking, oh, wow, they may come back.
01:44 But he didn't think it-- he was asked,
01:46 did you feel like it's discouraging?
01:47 He said, no, it's embarrassing.
01:51 But the Chargers were able to get the victory.
01:54 Anthony Lynn said as well that he does not
01:56 like that this trend is still going on.
01:58 He said that, yes, they got the victory,
02:01 but that there are still some lapses where this team just
02:05 lets other teams get in, and that shouldn't be happening.
02:08 Justin Herbert, again, like I said, great game.
02:14 There's just times where the team as a whole
02:17 just can't put it together, and they can't finish off games.
02:21 And today would have been a perfect opportunity
02:23 against the Jets to be able to do that, to put the Jets away.
02:27 They end up getting the victory at the end,
02:30 but it's still a huge question mark.
02:33 You don't want that moving forward
02:34 for your rookie quarterback, or your team in general.
02:38 For teams to be able to know that, no matter if they're up--
02:41 if the Chargers are up 24, 21 points,
02:44 they can still come back and beat the team.
02:46 So that's something that Anthony Lynn and the team
02:48 says they want to fix moving forward.
02:51 Anthony Lynn said that he did not like that play where--
02:55 he did not like the block punt.
02:56 He said Joshua Kelly just completely missed his guy.
02:59 So yes, the Chargers got a victory,
03:02 but it didn't seem convincing to them.
03:05 And you can tell that they're still focused
03:07 on the rest of the season.
03:09 They'll face the Buffalo Bills next weekend.
03:12 Buffalo will be coming off their bye week, similar to the Jets
03:14 were.
03:15 And Buffalo is sitting at the top of the AFC East.
03:19 It's going to be a difficult game traveling
03:21 to Buffalo for the Chargers, just because Buffalo's defense is
03:25 very good.
03:26 The offense is very good as well.
03:27 And they're coming off their bye week
03:28 where they can rest their guys.
03:29 So it's going to be very interesting to see how
03:31 that game goes.
03:32 The Chargers have not beaten a playoff opponent yet
03:35 this season.
03:37 So that game will be very interesting.
03:38 But at SoFi Stadium, Chargers win.
03:42 Again, like I said, there's still a lot of question marks
03:44 on this team.
03:45 What's going on with the late game lapses?
03:47 Special teams are still a problem.
03:49 And on the defense, they're still
03:52 getting beat for some deep passes.
03:55 Casey Hayward got beat on a 49-yard touchdown pass
03:58 from Joe Flacco to Rashad Perryman.
04:01 So still a lot of question marks on this team.
04:04 But they got the victory.
04:05 They improved to 3 and 7.
04:06 And for all the content leading up to the game on Buffalo
