00:00 Okay, so here we go.
00:02 I actually told every guy that left, because before then we had never won in camera.
00:09 I told every guy that left, I said, dang, bro, y'all ain't gonna get a chance to win
00:13 in camera.
00:14 I am.
00:15 I know, I know it sounds crazy.
00:19 I said that to them when they left.
00:23 And I told them that I was going to win in camera.
00:25 And so fast forward now again, am I a fortune teller?
00:30 It seems like I am.
00:31 Yeah, sure did.
00:32 I told you so, guaranteed it.
00:35 But this is what happened.
00:36 When we played them at Carolina, we didn't lose.
00:41 We didn't lose that game because they were a better team than us.
00:45 I felt like we lost that game because at that stage in the season, we were still young,
00:50 we were still learning, and we hadn't reached our full potential yet.
00:54 When we went to camera, it was a completely different story.
00:58 I felt like this team had I said, okay, we've put the pieces in place, everybody kind of
01:02 knows their role Tyler Hansbro is starting to become Tyler Hansbro.
01:05 Me and me and Ray Sean are doing what we're supposed to do as far as holding this thing
01:08 down.
01:09 Bobby Frazier is steady at the point guard position.
01:12 Marcus Ginga, Danny Green, all of these guys are plugging in where they need to be.
01:17 Wes Miller is knocking down shots.
01:19 We can go in and beat them.
01:21 I told them that before we got out the bus.
01:23 We get off the bus.
01:25 We didn't read no disrespect from Cameron indoor stadium and their camera crazies at
01:33 all.
01:34 They are probably the most creative fan base out there.
01:39 Dookies, I give you your little credit.
01:41 There you go.
01:42 That's the only credit you're getting from me right now.
01:46 But now, once the game started, JJ came out.
01:51 Fuego, I'm like, oh, boy, go miss.
01:56 But I also say it's a 40 minute game.
01:59 And that's all that's all I kept telling my guys 40 minutes, 40 minutes.
02:04 I don't care if they winning for 38 of it.
02:07 40 minutes, 40 minutes.
02:09 So as we're getting down to it, and we start winning, okay, we got a little lead.
02:14 We doing our thing.
02:15 JJ is getting tired.
02:16 He's starting to miss shots.
02:18 Marcus, Danny, me, Rayshon, making it tough on Sheldon, missing a few shots.
02:27 And I'm like, okay, here we go.
02:29 So now, it starts to snowball into this.
02:33 Oh, we got a lead.
02:35 Can we play with the lead?
02:36 Tyler knocks down a huge three.
02:39 Now it's comeback time for them.
02:41 They starting to come back, and the Marcus Nelson hits a three that I want to say it
02:47 cut it to like three or four.
02:49 When I say I had never in my life heard anything that loud, man, that stadium got so loud,
03:02 we couldn't hear anything.
03:04 Coach Williams was screaming for a timeout.
03:06 You couldn't hear him.
03:07 You got guys right next to you that you're trying to talk to that you cannot hear because
03:11 that's how loud it was in there.
03:13 So they thought they had their little comeback, but then we knocked down some shots.
03:18 Bobby goes to the free throw line.
03:20 Kulkama collected, knocks down some free throws.
03:23 And I'm like, oh, here we go.
03:25 Here we go.
03:26 So now, once we get that, once we get that, Coach K calls his timeout, and he pulls JJ
03:32 and them off.
03:33 Once he pulled JJ and them off, we was like, oh, yeah, it's a wrap.
03:37 It's a wrap.
03:38 So now, we kind of -- me, I'm like, hey, game ain't over yet.
03:42 Forty minutes.
03:43 That's all I kept saying.
03:44 Game ain't over yet.
03:45 Forty minutes.
03:46 So finally, they take them off the court, all of their seniors.
03:48 They walk off crying like little babies, little dookie babies, you little dookie babies.
03:55 So they walk off the court.
03:58 Coach pulls them off.
03:59 I look over at Coach.
04:00 Coach looks at me.
04:02 Bobby steps to the free throw line.
04:04 And in one of the clips, you might can see it, he's looking at me.
04:08 I said, it's Bobby's world.
04:10 That's what I used to tell him.
04:11 Because in Bobby's world, he's the man.
04:14 Kulkama collected, steps to the free throw line, knocks down two, and buzzer goes off.
04:21 Like all we could do was like -- all I could do was just throw my jersey up.
04:25 I told y'all.
04:26 I told y'all we was going to win in here.
04:27 I told you, Bums.
04:29 We was going to come in here and knock y'all off.
04:31 And we did it.
04:32 Tyler Hansborough has a great game.
04:35 Bobby plays great.
04:36 Danny plays great.
04:38 And it was just -- and afterwards in the locker room, all I did, I just sat down.
04:42 I just smiled.
04:44 Because it was one of the most gratifying victories of my career at the University of
04:50 North Carolina.
04:51 Not only because it was against Duke, but because of the season that we had had, and
04:56 also because of how, just like you, everybody -- all the fans, they didn't think that this
05:03 was going to be a good Carolina season.
05:05 And for us to finish it that way, getting the number three seed in the tournament, and
05:14 then for me, it would have been a lot better if we would have gone a little bit further
05:18 in the ACC tournament.
05:20 But you know, it's all good.
05:22 Enjoyed every bit of it.
05:24 Well, thank you so much for the time.
