00:00 [MUSIC]
00:02 By halftime, my feet are bleeding.
00:05 But I'm having a good game, I don't wanna take them off.
00:09 >> Michael, my goodness.
00:12 A number of the players and even two of the officials are laughing.
00:15 Michael Jordan now has 40 points.
00:17 >> I was definitely a daddy's girl growing up and
00:20 he still calls me princess to this day and I'm almost 30.
00:24 So no matter what, I'm always gonna be baby girl and
00:28 the only girl like you said during that time.
00:30 So he definitely wanted to coddle and protect and nurture and
00:34 baby me as much as he can.
00:35 But he also knew the harsh reality of the burden that I was gonna have to endure
00:40 the older I got.
00:41 So he wanted to make sure I had tough skin.
00:43 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:49 He definitely had the ability to turn it off.
00:50 But when I'm playing Sudoku or I think right now it's like word cookies and
00:55 trying to see, hey, what level are you on?
00:57 Things like that, that's organic and genuine.
00:59 That's definitely gonna be a competition and
01:01 right now it's probably killing me at word cookies.
01:04 [LAUGH] I haven't played in a while, he's on a level of 1,000 at this point.
01:09 >> This is not one of those lifestyle that you envy,
01:13 where you can't, you're confined to this room and
01:18 ready for getting out of this life.
01:21 So you know when you get to that point, I'm there.
01:26 And with no reservations at all, I'm there.
01:29 >> When you're talking about my grandfather or
01:32 the concerns of people's perceptions and that fear, that's definitely been new.
01:36 Because in my eyes, my father's untouchable.
01:39 He doesn't get emotional, he doesn't get sad, he's not fearful,
01:41 he doesn't have anything.
01:43 He's perfect, essentially.
01:45 But again, those moments coming out and
01:47 really seeing that human aspect has definitely been eye opening.
01:50 And when they happen, I shoot him a text like, hey,
01:53 grandpa would be so proud of you.
01:54 >> Only one guy has this level of artistry.
01:58 Spinning in the lane for the slam.
02:00 And Spike Lee is all over Michael Jordan.
02:03 And Michael has a few words by way of retort.
02:05 >> Well, he just told him that he couldn't guard him.
02:08 >> He said, you can't guard me.
02:10 But you look at this, he says, hey, you come out here.
02:12 >> My father's legacy, like you said, extends definitely off of the court.
02:16 What he did on the hardwood is unprecedented and
02:18 something that we really haven't seen even in today's game.
02:22 It's a different game, it's a different era.
02:24 So there's no denying that he is one of the greatest to ever play the game.
02:29 And then off the court, his legacy has been that he's an impactful black man in
02:34 society.
02:35 He's been super powerful, he's been super successful,
02:39 he's been super vocal in his own right and in his own way.
02:42 And being a role model, which I don't think he ever really expected to be.
02:46 So it's something that he takes on and he's appreciative and he's blessed and
02:51 he loves doing it.
02:52 He loves knowing that people are inspired by him and
02:55 people are relating to his story and his upbringing even more.
02:58 Now that this documentary has been able to shed some more of that personal side.
03:02 But as long as everyone knows that he's human at the end of the day and
03:06 he's not a god and he makes mistakes just like everybody else,
03:10 then that's his legacy.
