Coach Roy Williams still hasn't decided on a starting lineup for the Tar Heels. Sunday's scrimmage may have changed his mind on a few players. He also discusses the importance of experience vs. talent in a starter.

00:00 No, I have not.
00:01 We scrimmaged amongst ourselves last night,
00:04 and that gives you some good feelings, some bad feelings.
00:08 Some guys move up the ladder.
00:10 Other guys get on the slippery slope and slide down.
00:13 But I have not made a decision yet.
00:16 No one on my staff knows the decision,
00:19 and the reason they don't is because old Roy doesn't know it.
00:22 I think you do both.
00:25 I can't give a weighted number to either one of them.
00:29 You know, in '06, we lost to everybody.
00:32 So the first game I started, Bobby Marcus and Tyler Hansgrohe.
00:36 It was an easier decision with Tyler,
00:39 you know, than perhaps some other guys.
00:40 But I think you do look at both.
00:44 But I think even more importantly than that,
00:46 the trust that you have that they're going to do
00:48 what you want them to do, and five weeks of practice,
00:53 how they've done in gaining your trust.
00:56 And I think talent should take over
00:59 almost all the time.
01:00 But it doesn't, and it never has taken over completely for me.
01:06 They've really done a nice job.
01:07 You know, they're both freshmen
01:09 and haven't played together any until this year.
01:11 And there will be a lot of times
01:13 they'll be on the court together.
01:15 Of course, there will be some times
01:16 that Kayla will be at the point,
01:18 and there will be some times that RJ will be at the point,
01:20 and the other guy will be on the bench.
01:22 But they're going to play a heck of a lot
01:23 together this year as well.
01:24 And I think so far, 28, 29, whatever it is, practice is in.
01:30 They're willing to share the ball.
01:32 Caleb is more of a volume shooter.
01:35 I'm more of one of those guys
01:37 that wants to see a higher percentage.
01:39 And so we get both of them to understand that.
