00:00Hello and welcome to What's On in Wigan this week. The Wigan History Festival will celebrate
00:08more than a thousand years of the town's history from the earliest time of the Romans
00:12right up to the present. The event will feature a temporary pop-up cinema and lecture theatre
00:18and takes place at Wigan Parish Church on April 26th until April 27th from 10am until
00:244pm. The fantastic nine-piece line-up Studio One Two Tone will be performing a number of
00:30ska and reggae hits featuring Bob Marley, The Scatolites, Desmond Decker and more. The
00:37event takes place at the Boulevard on April 27th from 6.30pm until 9.30pm. Or why not
00:44visit the Monaco in Hindley on Sunday April 28th for Grand Pro Wrestling Heroes and Villains.
00:51It's described as an unbeatable atmosphere that will have you hooked, cheering and booing
00:55the good guys and bad guys as young and old get swept up in the characters' emotions
01:00and amazing matches. It starts at 3pm and tickets are available online.
01:06And finally Wigan Music Society is hosting the Larissa Piano Trio for a performance of
01:11work by Mozart, Debussy, Haydn and Ravel at Trinity United Reformed Church. The concert
01:18takes place on Saturday April 27th and is the last in the season and marks the retirement
01:23of Dr Hugh Mather as WMS President after 40 years.
