Indonesia anticipates largest homecoming to mark end of Ramadan

Millions of Indonesians are traveling across the country to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families, marking the end of Ramadan. This year, the Transportation Ministry anticipates the largest migration in Indonesia's history, with an estimated 193 million people returning to their hometowns, compared to 124 million last year. In Jakarta alone, over 1.1 million people are expected to depart for their rural hometowns, filling bus and train stations daily.
