00:00 Hello, you lovely people, this is me Varun Inamdar.
00:02 Well, winter is one of the greatest seasons,
00:04 simply because of the variety of produce that it has to offer,
00:08 and for us to choose from.
00:09 Well, I'm celebrating this season with Thin Kitchen,
00:12 simply because of the plethora of options that Thin Kitchen has to offer.
00:17 Well, I'm celebrating and tantalizing my taste buds,
00:20 with a very simple recipe which is a winter special.
00:24 The name you may ask, Spiced Beans, Vegetables and Rice Stew.
00:28 Let's dive in.
00:29 [Music]
00:35 Now, of course, when it comes to winter produce,
00:37 you can go all out and choose your favourite vegetables.
00:39 What I'm doing is sticking to some classics that I personally prefer.
00:43 Let's begin with carrots, move on to bell peppers, onions,
00:46 you can also use tomatoes.
00:47 But in this case, I'm also using a special ingredient,
00:50 that way I avoid cooking further.
00:53 Let's jump in to dice some vegetables.
00:55 [Music]
01:01 Let's keep the carrots aside and move on to onion this time.
01:05 [Music]
01:12 Moving on to bell peppers, beginning with green,
01:15 followed up with red and yellow.
01:17 [Music]
01:20 Well, our vegetables are cut and ready,
01:22 let's quickly move on to the next composition,
01:24 and that is the stock making.
01:26 For the stock making, I'm using KitchenAid mixing and measuring bowl with handle.
01:31 This bowl is BPA free and has a non-slip base for added stability,
01:36 which makes it easier for mixing anything directly into it.
01:39 Now for this, I'm showing you an extremely easy method of making the stock.
01:43 Let's begin with cold water.
01:45 [Music]
01:48 To this, let's add in a seasoning cube, let's crush it like so.
01:54 And along with this, home ground Garam Masala.
01:56 Let's stir this together.
01:58 And with this, your instant stock is done and ready.
02:01 Let's now move on to the third component, and that is washing the rice.
02:06 For this, I'm using Joseph Joseph Nest 9+ bowl set,
02:11 the ultimate collection of space-saving kitchenware.
02:14 This set includes mixing bowls, colander, sieve, measuring cups,
02:19 and its unique design allows individual elements to stack neatly together.
02:24 Remember to wash rice properly and strain it well before using.
02:28 This bowl also has a non-slip base.
02:31 Let's keep this aside, and now let's move on to cooking the stew,
02:35 for which I'm using my masterclass casserole.
02:38 Now this ensures that the moisture remains in the pan,
02:41 and this also ensures that it's fantastic for rich stews like these.
02:45 Let's begin.
02:45 This casserole is induction safe, and you can continue your cooking in your oven too.
02:51 Making it great for those slow cooked curries and tajines.
02:54 Let's begin with a little bit of oil,
02:57 falling up immediately with Onions,
03:00 and along with this Green Garlic.
03:02 Let's stir this for a couple of minutes.
03:04 I'm going to add in the rest of the vegetables.
03:07 Let's add in the rice.
03:21 And along with this, Red Chilli Powder.
03:24 Let's season this with Salt of course, you can also add in some Pepper,
03:29 some flavours, herbs of your choice, I'm avoiding all of that.
03:32 Instead, I'm adding in a couple of spoons of Baked Beans.
03:36 This will ensure that, of course there are beans in the recipe,
03:39 there also Tomato in the form of the puree.
03:43 And finally, time to add in our Instant Stock.
03:45 Well, did I forget to mention,
03:46 this features a non-slip handle and also an integrated spout,
03:50 for easy mess-free pouring.
03:52 Let's add this in.
03:54 Let's stir this well,
04:00 and allow this to cook on medium flame for at least 40 to 45 minutes,
04:05 till of course the rice and the vegetables are perfectly cooked.
04:08 Well, once the aroma starts filling in the air,
04:12 time to turn the flame off,
04:14 and with this, ladies and gentlemen, our Spiced Bean Vegetable and Rice Stew,
04:18 is done and ready.
